In by far the biggest shock of the tournament so far, #13 Buffalo destroys #4 Arizona 89-68. Therefore, no team from the Pac-12 will be going to the second round.

Alabama also wins a close one against Virginia Tech 86-83.

Florida rolls to victory over St. Bonaventure 77-62.

And the final game of day 1 goes to Michigan, as they defeat Montana 61-47.

Biggest shocks, surprises on day one:

The biggest shock has to be Buffalo blowing out Arizona. Not only did a 13 beat a 4, but did it in convincing fashion by 21.

The Pac-12 is absolutely awful!!! Only 3 teams got in the tournament, two of those in the First Four. UCLA loses to St. Bonaventure in the First Four. Arizona State loses to Syracuse in the First Four. Arizona gets blown out by Buffalo in the first round. My biggest shock was the poor showing (the worst in major conference history!!).

The ACC goes 1-3 in the first round on day one. Duke was the only win.

The SEC goes 4-0 in the first round on day one.

My other obervtion is that Loyola-Chicago is a dangerous team, if you let them hang around.
