The Pioneers (1-0) did what a D-1 team is supposed to do when playing a D-3 team. Leading the way in the win with 21 points, 12 boards, and 3 assists was Anquan Hill. Dashon Gittens chipped in with 18 points and 5 steals. For Merchant Marine Academy (0-1) Tim Barton had 18 points and 4 assists.
