As a season ticket holder I will be biased but Marshall has a very good chance to win. Jay Bilas from ESPN picked this as the most likely 13 vs. 4 seed upset. Marshall can score with anyone (top 10 PPG in the country) and Penava is a great presence in the paint (leads nation in blocks). Wichita size is comparable to Marshall and Marshall may be more athletic top to bottom. Herd can’t come out cold and if they handle the Shockers pressure I see them moving on.
It is also worth noting that Marshall has only 2 seniors on this team. Both of which totaled exactly zero minutes in the Conference USA tournament so a good season is in store next year

Shades of Rick Huckabay and Skip Henderson . Even if they are one and done in the tournament, it will have been a great season for the Herd.

It will definitely be a challenge for Marshall getting a win in this one, but definitely not out of the question.

Marshall stepped it up when their center got his 4th foul and had to sit for a while. Won the game on points on turnovers. Good win for the team and program.

There will be a Mountain State reunion Sunday! WVU handles Murray State and will meet the Herd on Sunday. This matchup might be too much for Marshall even though WVU is the 5 seed and Wichita was the 4. Need Penava out of foul trouble

Thanks for the info. I went back and after review, I picked Marshall...!!!

WOW!!!! THE Capital Classic in the west!! its not only March but WVU VS Marshall..........the capital city hasn't been so friendly to the Herd in recent years......maybe this will help that out........congrats too to the mounties..........and what a GREAT March present.........
