Playing on the road at #2 Wisconsin over the weekend, the Buckeyes concluded a very successful two game series on Sunday. In their first game on Saturday, OSU picked up a monster 3-1 victory. Then on Sunday, the two teams played to a 1-1 tie, where the Badgers ultimately picked up the extra league point with the 3x3 overtime victory.

Next up, Ohio State will wrap up their regular season this coming weekend when they host two games against St. Cloud State.

Thank you, I should have looked a little closer. That's a pretty good season record.

OSU clinched a spot in the WCHA Final Faceoff Semifinal next Saturday in Minneapolis. They did so by earning a clean sweep over Minnesota State in the 1st Round of the WCHA Conference Tournament over the weekend. On Friday, the Buckeyes picked up a 4-2 victory, and then to clinch their trip, they earned a shutout victory, 1-0, on Saturday.

They will find their opponent for the semifinal match-up in the next few days.

After finishing 2-2 in the regular season against Minnesota, the Buckeyes got one more chance to win the season series against the Gophers, when the two teams met up on Saturday in the WCHA Conference Semifinal game. The 5th ranked Buckeyes unexpectedly took down the 3rd ranked (and host) Minnesota Golden Gophers 4-3 in overtime, on a Tatum Skaggs goal at the 4:56 mark of the overtime period.

For the first time since 2001, Ohio State will advance to the WCHA championship game, which is Sunday in Minneapolis. The team they'll be playing is no slouch, as they'll play #2 Wisconsin this afternoon in the championship game.

For the first time in program history, the Buckeyes have won the WCHA Conference Tournament!! They did so by defeating #2 (and top seeded) Wisconsin 1-0 in an overtime thriller. Both goalies and defenses played outstanding games for three periods, before OSU was able to score the winning goal in overtime. Whether OSU won or not, they had a good chance at the NCAA Tournament, but clinched the conference's automatic berth today. The winning goal of the game came by way of nobody other than.....Tatum Skaggs.

Now, Ohio State will have to wait and see their tournament fate, and what seed they'll get.

I'm pretty sure that Tatum Skaggs also scored the overtime goal in the previous game against Minnesota, witch entitled them to advance to the championship game against Wisconsin.
