The Buckeyes started their season last night with an exhibition game against a D2 school from Ohio (like most teams do each year, playing a D2 team from their own state). OSU won the game by a final score of 95-52 against Cedarville. Kaleb Wesson scored 23 points for the Buckeyes to lead the way, he also tallied 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. DJ Carton had 15 points, followed by CJ Walker and Kyle Young with 10 points each.

Leading Cedarville was Quinton Green with 16 points. Kollin Van Horn (Fairland graduate) tallied 5 points. Branden Maughmer (Chillicothe grad) tallied 11 points.

Ohio State's first game of the regular season will be Wednesday when they host Cincinnati.

Season kicks off tonight. Big game against Cincinnati, one the Buckeyes should win. I’m excited to see the new pieces brought in, some talented freshman and a transfer should all add depth to an already really solid team. Go Buckeyes!

Might take the Freshmen a few games to get there feet on the ground, but it could be a pretty exciting year for the Buckeyes. They do have some pretty tough non-conference games on the schedule.

The Buckeyes are playing a pretty tough schedule. With tough non-conference games against Cincinnati, Villanova, North Carolina, Kentucky and West Virginia.

Should be a great season! Excited for the first tip-off tonight.

So far OSU looks lackluster at best.

I cant believe they have not had a dominant big man who can score and own the paint since Sullinger. What's that been....10 years?

No shooters who can light it up and no dependable big man results in mediocre teams.

Its early, maybe the TOs will get cleaned up as this game vs Cincy goes on. Not very impressive so far.

It certainly wasn't pretty, but a win is a win.

Buckeyes didn’t look great, but was a nice hard fought win against a Cincinnati team who should be decent even after the departure of Cronin, not to mention it was the first game. Need to clean up the turnovers, shooting was awful in the first half, turned it around in the second half. Kyle Young had a nice game, kid plays hard. DJ Carton is as good as advertised, I expect big things from him this year. I think they will end up being a really solid team, next game on Sunday will be a tune up before a big show down with Nova next week!

The first game of the season wasn't pretty, but the Buckeyes were able to get enough space to earn the 64-56 victory over visiting Cincinnati on Wednesday night. Leading the way for the Buckeyes was Kyle Young (14 points, 13 rebounds). Kaleb Wesson also had a decent game with 8 points and 11 rebounds for OSU.

For the Bearcats, Jarron Cumberland and Keith Williams each scored 13 points.

Next up, Ohio State will host UMass-Lowell on Sunday at 4pm.

Wow,did the Buckeyes look good tonight against Villanova ? Won by 25pts,led by 30 pts a couple times. Shot 60% for the whole game. Didn't look like the same team that opened the season against Cincinnati. I know it's only one game, and they are a pretty young team, but they are going to be fun to watch.

The Buckeyes (3-0) hit the hardwood on Wednesday, and absolutely dominated #10 Villanova (1-0), 76-51. Leading the Buckeyes was Duane Washington Jr with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Kaleb Wesson added a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds (as well as 4 blocks, 3 assists).

This game didn't prove much. The Buckeyes won 86-51, they played everyone. Every big school does this and schedules 3 or 4 cupcakes witch are normally pretty easy wins.

Nothing happened in this one that wasn't really expected. Buckeyes defeat Stetson 86-51.

Next up, Ohio State is hosting Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday night.

The Buckeyes picked up two more wins, against Purdue-Fort Wayne and Kent State.

I was impressed with Kent State. I think they'll do some damage in the MAC.

Next up, Ohio State will host Morgan State on Friday.

The Buckeyes (7-0) easily kept their undefeated record in tact on Friday night, defeating visiting Morgan State (3-6) 90-57. It was never much of a contest, as the Buckeyes also lead by a massive amount (45-18) at the half. Leading the way for OSU is Andre Wesson with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Kaleb Wesson also tallied 13 points and and 8 rebounds.

Leading the way for the Bears was Stanley Davis with 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Next up, Ohio State will face their toughest test of the season so far, when they play at North Carolina on Wednesday. Which will also be the Buckeyes first road game.
