Buckeye Defensive Co-Coordinator Jeff Hafley is reported to be the next head football coach at Boston College. He will replace Steve Adazzio who was fired by BC but also just recently hired as HC at Colorado State.
Hafley is given much credit for the positive turnaround of the OSU defense this season. If he is indeed hired at BC, I am sure he will not leave OSU until after the CFP. The question becomes will Hafley's pending departure disrupt OSU's playoff preparations.

and so it begins. the one problem with having a very major problem is you are always having assistants and co-ordinators leaving to accept head coaching positions. sometimes you are better where you are. look at chris ash going to Rutgers. but I'm happy for him. and he apparently has earned this opportunity. as uber focused as coach day is. I'm sure he already has somebody top shelf ready to go.

True bait. Think of some big names that left and went onto some big time college football. Tom Herman , Luke Fickell, Ryan Day. Pretty impressive ya ask me

The thing that I'm most concerned with right now is the fact that he is mostly credited with bringing in or getting commitments from so many very highly rated defensive backs. With the early signing period coming up very soon, I'm just hoping that some of these kids do not decommit because of his departing. After it was announced that he was leaving, a couple of them are now kind of in a wait and see mode.

If it's true, Eleven Warriors has been reporting that possibly Ryan Day has already been in contact with Kerry Coombs, the ex defensive backs coach that left Ohio State to go to the NFL and the Tennessee Titans. He was a very popular coach under Urban and also a very good recruiter, especially in Southwestern Ohio. He was a very successful coach at the high school level at Cincinnati Colerain. I think he would be a very popular hire if he were able to get him to come back to OSU.

Texas signed Ash as Def. Co-ordinator today so he and Herman who were the young darlings at OSU a few years ago had better get it together soon or they both may be out the door sooner than later in Longhorn land.countywide35 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 10:19 amYOU'RE TIGER BAIT wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 9:12 am and so it begins. the one problem with having a very major problem is you are always having assistants and co-ordinators leaving to accept head coaching positions. sometimes you are better where you are. look at chris ash going to Rutgers. but I'm happy for him. and he apparently has earned this opportunity. as uber focused as coach day is.
