Ohio State will begin their season next Friday through Sunday when they compete in the Carolina Classic, hosted by South Carolina. Their first game will be against Southern Illinois. Last season, they finished with a 35-18 record. They made the NCAA tournament and won only 1 of 3 games in the tournament.

I haven't seen the BTN Network schedule for sotball/baseball season yet, but that would be nice.

Through two days of the Carolina Classic in Columbia, South Carolina, hosted by South Carolina, the Buckeyes have played fairly well. On Friday evening, they fell to hosts #19 South Carolina in a very tight one, 3-2.

But then on Saturday, they won two dominant games. In their first Saturday game, they cruised by North Dakota State 13-5. And then in the afternoon session, they shutout Southern Illinois 5-0.

Tomorrow they will wrap up their weekend in SC with a game against UNC Greensboro at 12:30.

Pretty sure the Buckeye Ladies have played in this early Softball Classic down in Columbia SC before. The weather is normally always a little better down in that area than we are experiencing back here.

The Buckeyes wrapped up their weekend in Columbia, SC, at the Carolina Classic on Sunday afternoon with a 10th inning walk-off win, 5-4, over UNC Greensboro. Going into the 10th inning, Greensboro struck first off a fielding error from OSU. But then, Niki Carver scored on a sac bunt to tie the game. Taylor Pack then was able to tag up and score the winning run off a sac fly to center field.

Payton Buersch (2-1) took a 9 inning win for the Buckeyes, while tallying 8 strikeouts.

Next up, Ohio State will head to Raleigh, NC for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge next Friday through Sunday, where they will play two games each against NC State and Notre Dame.

Competing in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge over the weekend in Raleigh, NC, the Buckeyes returned home empty handed with an 0-4 record. Things got kicked off on Friday, when OSU fell to host NC State 5-3. Looking to rebound late Saturday morning, Notre Dame ultimately trounced the Buckeyes 7-1. Then OSU once again fell to NC State 5-3 in the later afternoon hours of Saturday. In their final game of the weekend on Sunday afternoon, OSU battled hard and made a valiant comeback attempt, but ultimately fell to Notre Dame again, this time by a final score of 6-4.

Ohio State will look for a big bounce back weekend this coming weekend when they travel to Fresno, California, for the Fresno State Invitational, beginning on Friday.

It was an up and down weekend for the Buckeyes, but ultimately, they were able to leave Fresno with a winning record on the weekend at the Fresno State Invitational. The weekend started off on a high note, as OSU picked up a 5-1 victory over UC Santa Barbara. But, host Fresno State was waiting for them later on Friday night, where the Buckeyes eventually fell 9-4 to the hosts.

Flipping the page over to Saturday, the Buckeyes were unable to finish off a weekend sweep of UC Santa Barbara, as the Gauchos defeated OSU 5-2. The rest of the weekend went the way of Ohio State. On Saturday evening, the Scarlet and Gray picked up a 6-2 victory over Pacific, and then on Sunday morning, picked up a 4-3 victory over UIC.

Ohio State will have next weekend off, before they return West, when they'll spend nearly two weeks in Arizona for the Arizona State Invitational, and then the Grand Canyon Invitational.

I'm beginning to wonder if starting pitching might also be one of the problems for the Lady Buckeyes ? I realize that if you have a couple pitchers that are better in softball, that most schools go in that direction most of the time. It just seems as if they are giving up quite a few runs, just like the Buckeye men are in baseball.

It's been a great, and rather dominant start to the weekend for the Buckeyes in Tempe, at the ASU Invitational. On Friday, they picked up a 3-0 victory over a very good Oregon State team. And then on Saturday, they picked up a blowout 13-0 victory in 5 innings over Wright State.

Ohio State will continue in the ASU Invitational through Monday, as they'll play Oregon State and host Arizona State on Sunday, before playing Lehigh on Monday.

I would agree. Even if the games aren't live at least play a time delay or something, anything is better then replaying the same daily recap show 30 times a day! I'd like to see them do the same with Baseball.

After two successful days to open the ASU Invitational, the Buckeyes double header on Sunday was not as much of a success. In the first game of the day, they fell to a solid receiving votes Oregon State 7-3, after beating them on Friday. Then in the evening session, they lost to host #17 Arizona State, 9-0 in 5 innings. But, there was a successful note to end their weekend, as they played one more game on Monday and defeated Lehigh 10-2 in 5 innings.

Ohio State will stay in Arizona through next weekend, while they travel to Phoenix to compete in the Grand Canyon University Invitational, which begins on Friday when they play Lehigh.
