Winthrop (24-10) trailed by 15 in the first half and took until a little over 12:00 left in the contest to take their 2nd lead of the game, before running away for the win. Hampton (15-19) played as well as they could have but seemed to tired as the game got in to crunch time. For Winthrop, who clinches a bid to the big dance for the 11th time in school history. Leading the winners with 16 points and 4 boards was, D.J.Burns (Rock Hill, SC). Chandler Vaudrin (Uniontown, OH), Hunter Hale (Kalamazoo, MI) and Chase Claxton (Greenville, SC) each had 10 points. For Hampton (15-19) Jermaine Marrow (Newport News, VA) led the way with 18 points and 6 assists.
