Ed Ratleff was also a star at East on those teams. It would have been interesting to see which team was better in Columbus. The East team or the Walnut Ridge team of Ed Stahl a few years later. Both teams had numerous DIV 1 College players.
Ed Stahl and Brad Hoffman both to UNC.
Ed Ratliff Long Beach St. and Bo Lamar SW Louisana.
Have to throw Jerry West name into the mix.
Have to go with Alcindor as the best though.

I remember Walton playing against the Russians. R had a cherry pick going with Walton the only one back. The R went to shoot and Walton slapped the ball off his head. If I remember right Walton was 11 for 12 that game with 22 points.

Big men would be Alcindor and Walton. When Lew was a freshmen they were not allowed to play varsity. UCLA's freshmen class beat the varsity that year in a full scrimmage. If Walton hadn't had knee problems he would have hate the NBA up.

Also do not forget The Big E from Houston. He was one of the very few that beat Alcindor.

and pistol pete never lived up to what people said. Jordan could only play guard where James and Magic could play anywhere, leaving Jordan as a great guard and average overall player. The King/Magic are great players anywhere on the court. Jordan just happened to play on a team with good players.
