His son said that he has a treatable form of Lung cancer.
JoePa was in the ER last night, but was released and went home.

Re: JoePa has Cancer??????
Not being insensitive, but he's in my death pool for next year.
As the husband of a cancer patient and survivor, I send my deepest concerns for Joe and his medical trials. "Treatable" doesn't mean curable, and Lung cancer is devistating. I buried my uncle last week from Lung cancer.
I pray he has the strength to go through either treatment or whatever course he chooses.

i lost my dad in 2000 to lung cancer. he had the small cell kind. went very quick. hope joe pa can beat it but at his age of fighting something like that scares me. god bless him and i pray for him.

Lost my brother to lung cancer at age 46 but it was the small cell fast spreading type,if it is large cell maybe he can live awhile maybe thats what they mean by treatable,at his age though this can't be good

Re: JoePa has Cancer??????
yeah jp has to have another type of cancer. the small cell is the worst kind anybody can have. very hard to treat and stop from spreading through out the body. took my dads life two weeks after he found out he had it at age 58. it is the most untreatable cancer there is according to the cancer specialists at mount carmel medical center. wish they could find a complete cure for that wicked crap.

Trenchfoot. So sorry to hear that your father was taken by this horrible disease. I know it has to be hard hearing this story because of your experience with your Dad bringing those tough times flooding back to you. At 58, it was way too soon to lose you Dad. It just goes to show how precious life is. Makes everything else seem trivial. Thanks for telling your heart breaking story. It has touched my life as well and it was one of the worst things I ever went through. Maybe someday, with all the research going on, we can find a way to treat and beat Cancer. That would be the greatest science break through we can ever hope and pray for.Trenchfoot wrote:yeah jp has to have another type of cancer. the small cell is the worst kind anybody can have. very hard to treat and stop from spreading through out the body. took my dads life two weeks after he found out he had it at age 58. it is the most untreatable cancer there is according to the cancer specialists at mount carmel medical center. wish they could find a complete cure for that wicked crap.

Re: JoePa has Cancer??????
It seems there is no family that has not been affected by cancer.
By the time docs discovered my dad's cancer back in 1997, it was too late. Had spread throughout most of his body. He went through one session of chemo, then decided to just go home and be with the grandkids during his last days. It was a good time for him. He lasted about 3 months or so and my sister said he really enjoyed the time with her three boys. He died in his sleep at a skilled nursing facility.
My heart goes out to everybody who has experienced this horrible disease in some form.
To all you survivors, keep fighting, living and loving every day.
