According to Fox Sports, the commissioner of the MAC was fighting back tears when he made the announcement. Very sad.

Also....Big 10 said earlier today that they were pushing back the full pads practice. Didn't hear the entire story but, it almost sounded as if they are considering the same route as the MAC. I believe it is in the exact wording of the statement. Perhaps someone can find the statement.

Just thinking out loud here...

Could this be the first domino to fall? Will other conferences follow in the next few days?? Sadly, I am beginning to believe that there will be NO fall sports for all conferences.

Football moved to spring? Temps are better here in the south at that time. But football is an all weather sport in my mind. Perhaps spring for this season but...back to the fall for me.

As I said, just thinking out loud. Stay tuned folks!!!

This is most certainly not good news at all, I won't be a bit surprised if other conference's move their fall sports to the spring as well. There will be a " large boatload " of players that will not play football in the spring, and instead prepare for the NFL draft.

Covid maybe the reason but it wasn't because of health concerns...… unless you count financial health concerns. The MAC cancelled because the big boys are going conference only. So, without those fat checks from Power 5 schools MAC athletic budgets lose a crap ton of money this season.

There's reason Oregon and OSU do a home-&-home and a reason OU goes to Boston College, Penn State, Syracuse, Illinois, ect and those teams never show up at Peden.

I know what's wrong with it. It's a Ford. You know what they say Ford stands for, don't ya? It stands for 'Fix it again, Tony'.
