The Buckeyes will kick off their season this Friday and Saturday, when they play host to a tri-meet against two Big Ten foes, a solid Penn State squad and Rutgers.

Only part of the schedule has been released to this point. I'll add the rest of the schedule as it becomes available.

In what was originally scheduled to be a tri-meet was switched to a dual meet against a solid Penn State team, the Buckeyes prevailed with a 163.5 - 134.5 victory on Saturday.

The following Buckeyes took first place finishes in the day's contest:

Charlie Clark - 500 Free, 1,000 Free
Paul Delakis - 200 Free
Jason Matthews - 100 Breast
Joseph Canova - 1-meter Dive, 3-meter Dive
Hunter Armstrong - 100 Free

OSU actually did not win the majority of events, but their depth helped them pull out the victory.

Next up, Ohio State travels to Bloomington to take on IU next weekend.

The Buckeyes dual meet against Michigan has been canceled, and they were able to schedule a quad meet at the last minute. OSU will travel to West Lafayette to take on Purdue, Rutgers and #7 Indiana on Saturday.

The Buckeyes competed in just one dual on the day, rather than competing against three other teams, as they defeated the host Boilermakers 159-140. It was a close contest, and the following Buckeyes were event winners:

400 Free Relay

Sam Andreis - 100 Fly
Jason Matthews - 100 Breast, 200 Breast
Paul Delakis - 200 Free
Charlie Clark - 1000 Free

Jacob Siler - 3 Meter Dive

Next up, Ohio State will be headed to the B1G Swimming Championships and the B1G Diving Championships, respectively, at the end of the month.

The Buckeyes wrapped up the diving competition of the B1G Championships on Saturday in West Lafayette. The diving competition was held separate from the swimming competition, which will be conducted this week, to cut down on the amount of people at one place. OSU proved to be absolutely dominant in the diving events, scoring 321 points in just those three events. Heading into the swimming portion of the competition, the Buckeyes are looking really solid with their lead, as second place Indiana has 211 points, followed by Purdue in third with 160 points.

Diving competition started with Ohio State tallying a solid 105 points in the 1-Meter Dive, with Lyle Yost leading the way with a 3rd place finish, followed by Joseph Canova (4th), Jacob Fielding (6th), Jacob Siler (7th) and Hunter Grannum (20th). On Friday came the 3-Meter Dive, where the Buckeyes shined once again, sweeping the podium with 1, 2, 3 (Canova, Yost, Siler) finishes. Jacob Fielding (17th), and Hunter Grannum (19th) rounded out the scoring for the Buckeyes in that event.

Finally, wrapping up the diving competition was the Platform Dive on Saturday. Jacob Siler led OSU with a runner-up finish, followed by Jacob Fielding (5th), Lyle Yost (7th), Joseph Canova (8th), and Hunter Grannum (11th).

Ohio State will now host the remaining portion of the B1G Championships, the swimming portion, Tuesday through Saturday of this week.

After the diving competitions in West Lafayette last week, the Buckeyes held a nice lead in the championships. They then returned home to host the swimming competitions. A pair of runner-up finishes kept OSU in the lead after the first day of swimming. The only two races swam on Tuesday were the 200 Medley Relay, and the 800 Freestyle Relay, in which the Buckeyes finished runner-up to Michigan in both of these races.

Ohio State still remains on top of the competition with 433 points, followed by Indiana with 319 points, and Michigan in third with 223 points.

On Wednesday, the championship will continue in Columbus with races in the 200 IM, 50 Free, 500 Free, and the 400 Medley Relay.

After Wednesday's races, the Buckeyes still remain on top of the team standings. Although they didn't show a ton of depth on Wednesday, the Buckeyes proved that their top line swimmers are as good as any other team. OSU leads the way with 628 points, followed by Indiana (547.5) and Michigan (526). In the first final of the day, Paul Delakis cruised to a 2 second victory in the 200 IM. Semued Andreis took victory for the Buckeyes in the second event, the 50 Free, while Jose Armstrong finished in 4th in that same event. OSU really struggled to score points in the 500 Free, but were able to get some when Charles Clark took a 4th place finish in the event. In the final event of Wednesday, Ohio State took 3rd place in the 400 Medley Relay behind Indiana and Michigan.

Thursday will likely be the shortest night of competition, with only three events. The events that will be conducted are the 100 Fly, 400 IM, and 200 Free.

The third day of swimming ended last night, and the Buckeyes have lost a lot of their momentum. The day started off with the 100 Fly, and although OSU did not score many points in the event, the still held onto a slim lead in the team standings. Then came the 400 IM, where the Buckeyes struggled to score points again, and that's where they lost their lead to Indiana. In the final event of the night, Paul Delakis earned a huge individual victory in the 200 Free for the Buckeyes, but there were very few points for OSU after him. Following the final event, Michigan took the lead with 767 points, followed by Indiana (763.5) and Ohio State (748). The good news is that there is only 19 points separating teams 1-3.

On Friday, the competition resumes with the 100 Back, 100 Breast, 200 Fly, and 200 Free Relay.

Friday night was a good one in Columbus, as teams went back and forth. Plenty of depth in the 100 Back, with Jose Armstrong leading the way with a runner-up finish, and in the 100 Breast, the Buckeyes were able to reclaim the team lead halfway through the night. In the 200 Fly, OSU really struggled, only placing two that scored points. In the final event of the night, the Buckeyes finished in 3rd place in the 200 Free Relay. After that final event of the night, Ohio State remained in third place. Indiana leads the way with 1,036.5 points, followed by Michigan (1010), and OSU with 1000 points.

The final day of the conference championship is today, Saturday, and will feature the 100 Free, 1650 Free, 200 Back, 200 Breast, and the 400 Free Relay. Teams that are currently in first through third will battle it out for the title, as the team in fourth place is nearly 400 points behind.
