The Buckeyes kick off their season this weekend as they'll travel to Ann Arbor for the Michigan Invitational, Saturday through Monday. They'll then host one of the ITA Kickoff Weekends next weekend when they host Washington, and then will play either Virginia or Tennessee in the championship match or in the 3rd place match.

The first team rankings of the season will come out later today. But in the meantime, the preseason singles, doubles and newcomer rankings have already come out. The singles list is for the top 125, the doubles list is for the top 60, and the newcomer list is for the top 10. Here are the Buckeyes that have made those lists.

Singles:
Irina Cantos - #78

Doubles:
Irina Cantos/Kolie Allen - #42

Just like the men, the women's team kicked off their season this weekend with an invitational, also like the men, this tournament was unscored. The #13 Buckeyes traveled to Ann Arbor and were joined by hosts, #22 Michigan, as well as Northwestern and Wisconsin. Each team played a full round of singles and a full round of doubles against each of the other teams.

On day one, #13 Ohio State went 5-2 against Northwestern in singles, then went 1-3 against #22 Michigan in doubles play.

Day two was a rough one for OSU, as they went 3-5 against Wisconsin in singles, then 1-3 against Northwestern in doubles.

Finally, on day three, they ended their unstable weekend, going 4-5 against #22 Michigan in singles, and 1-2 against Wisconsin in doubles.

Next up, like in years past, Ohio State will host one of the campus ITA Kickoff Weekend mini-tournaments. They will take on Syracuse in the semifinals on Friday at 9am, then the winner will take on the winner of Virginia vs. Tennessee in the championship, while the losers will play in the consolation. The winner of the weekend championship will go on to ITA Indoor Nationals later on in indoor season.

The Buckeyes are headed to the ITA Indoor National Championships! They accomplished this by running up a 4-0 victory over Syracuse on Friday morning in the ITA Kickoff Semifinal, that they hosted. That pitted the Buckeyes against #10 Virginia for a chance to head to the national tournament. OSU put up a 4-2 victory over the Cavaliers to punch their ticket.

Next up, Ohio State heads to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Stillwater, Oklahoma, February 5-7.

After victories over Syracuse, and then over #10 Virginia last weekend, the Buckeyes jump from #13 to #9.

I'll update on their trip to ITA Nationals this weekend after the matches. In their first round (quarterfinal) matchup, they'll be taking on #1 North Carolina.

Their Big Ten schedule has also been added above.

It was a tall task going into Friday, and the final score reflected that, as the Buckeyes fell to #1 North Carolina in the quarterfinal of the ITA Team Indoor National Championship, 4-0. Although their chances of winning a national title during indoor season is over, they'll still get to play another really good team and get some experience on Saturday. They'll play #6 Georgia Tech, who lost to #5 Pepperdine 4-2.

After their quarterfinal loss against the Tar Heels, the Buckeyes were able to come back and pull out a 4-3 victory over #6 Georgia Tech in the first consolation round. The doubles point went to Georgia Tech to kick things off, then the Buckeyes were able to even things up with an upset in the first singles match to finish. It was some tense times as OSU then lost the next two singles matches, before the Buckeyes were able to pick up three consecutive singles victories to pull out the win.

Next up, Ohio State will play #10 Oklahoma State in their final consolation match on Sunday.

There's a correction, the Buckeyes are actually playing #13 Northwestern today instead of #10 Oklahoma State.

Hitting the east coast for the weekend, the Buckeyes pulled out a 5-2 victory on the road against a pesky Maryland team on Friday. OSU earned the two victories in doubles to earn the doubles point, then the Terrapins picked up victories in 1st and 2nd singles to make it interesting, but the Buckeyes eventually pulled away for the win.

Next up, Ohio State travels to the Garden State where they'll take on Rutgers on Sunday afternoon.

The Buckeyes picked up a road win in Lincoln on Friday against Nebraska, 5-2. Once again, OSU picked up the doubles point, earning victories in 2nd and 3rd doubles. For the most part, the Buckeyes dominated action, but the Cornhuskers did pick up individual victories in 2nd and 3rd singles.

Next up, Ohio State will stay out west, as they travel to Iowa City to take on the Hawkeyes.

Next up, Ohio State hits the road again, but this time for one match, when they travel to Penn State on Sunday.

Hosting the two teams from the Eastern portion of the B1G over the weekend, the Buckeyes picked up two dominant victories. OSU picked up the doubles point, and mostly dominated the match, except for at #2 singles, where the Terrapins picked up a surprising win.

Then on Sunday, the Buckeyes picked up a clean 7-0 victory over visiting Rutgers.

Next up, Ohio State heads North to Michigan, where they'll play at Michigan State on Friday and at Michigan on Sunday.
