The Ohio State Wrestling Team got it's third commitment for the Class of 2022 on Thursday, as Malvern Prep's Nick Feldman announced his pledge to the Buckeyes. As the Top-Ranked Heavyweight in the Country, Feldman is the No-5 overall prospect in the country according to Flo Wrestling. With Feldman's commitment, Ohio State now has what is shaping up to be the Top-Class in the country. The future Buckeye has been on a roll over the past year, as he finished second at the Walsh Jesuit Ironman and then won both the Beast of the East and the National Prep Championships. He rocketed to the Top of the Heavyweight Rankings when he won a Major decision over previous Top-Ranked Heavyweight, ( and current Oklahoma State commitment Kyle Haas at Flo's Who's #1 Event back in October. Recruiting continues to be a strong suit of Ohio State Head Coach Tom Ryan. The program just signed Paddy Gallagher, the Nation's No-1 ranked 160 pounder in the Class of 2021, and the No-2 pound for pound prospect in the country according to Flo Wrestling. The Buckeyes have also signed Andre Gonzoles, ranked No-4 nationally at 113 pounds and a Fargo Champion in both Freestyle and Greco Roman.

Ohio State won it's first home dual meet of the season, winning 6 of 10 bouts and defeating Rutgers 19-14 Sunday afternoon. The Buckeyes improved to 2-1 on the season, but have plenty to work on as the meet could have easily gone the other way with the Scarlet Knights picking up a pair of upsets along the way.

Has Been nice to watch the grapplers against Maryland this afternoon on the BIG10 Network......my youngest son a little bummed out his grade school seaosn was canceled due to the pandemic. He was an undefeated District Champion last year snd had a real legit shot to win or at least place at the Ohio Athletic Committee State Championship in Youngstown. But the pandemic cut him short just days before he got to compete in 2020. He started watching the meet with me but it really bummed him out he was not getting to grapple again.

The Ohio State Wrestling Team pitched it's first conference shutout in more than 40 years Sunday, sweeping all 10 matches against the Maryland Terrapins. The Buckeyes improved to 4-1 on the season with the victory as five matches ended in bonus, including a trio of falls from Malik Heinselman, Sammy Sasso and Tate Orndorff. The last time Ohio State shutout a Big Ten team was a 52-0 drubbing of the Purdue Boilermakers on Feb. 3rd. 1979.
