The Buckeyes start their season this Saturday when they travel to Ann Arbor to take on Michigan. The rankings are not reflected yet, because teams are not added to the rankings until they have competed at least one time during the season.

OSU kicked off their season this past weekend when they traveled to Ann Arbor to take on #5 Michigan. The Buckeyes had their best season opener in five years, scoring a 196.000, but ultimately, the Wolverines were too good in this one, posting a stellar team score of 197.225.

In their first rotation, the Buckeyes competed in the balance beam, where they posted a team score of 48.950. But the highlight of that rotation was freshman Hannah Oliveros winning that individual title with a score of 9.900. She also earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors for that score.

Moving on through the rest of the day, here were the Buckeye scores: 48.975 (Vault), 48.975 (Floor), 49.100 (Beam).

Next up will be another tough opponent, as the Buckeyes travel to #9 Iowa on Saturday.

For the second time in as many duals this season, the Buckeyes lost, this time by a score of 196.550-193.800, to another top 10 team, #9 Iowa on the road. Although the Buckeyes didn't win any rotations as a team on Saturday, two individual did win event titles over the weekend. Sydney Jennings won the individual title on the vault, while Ella Hodges tied for the individual title in the on the beam.

Next up, Ohio State was supposed to host Michigan this coming Saturday, but the Wolverines have paused all athletic contests. The next event on the schedule for OSU is February 7 when they host Michigan State.

After canceling their second dual of the season against Michigan, due to a COVID outbreak on the UM campus, the Buckeyes were able to pick up a last minute tri-meet in East Lansing where they faced off against Michigan State and Nebraska on Saturday. OSU took 2nd out of the three teams, posting a score of 195.325, just closely behind the Spartans (195.775), who won the meet. The Cornhuskers posted a team score of 194.725.

Next up, Ohio State will host Michigan State for a dual meet on Saturday evening.

OSU claimed event titles on Bars (49.300), Beam (49.175) and Floor (49.200). Jenna Swartzentruber earned the individual title on the bars for the Buckeyes, while Ella Hodges (Beam) and Claire Gagliardi (Floor) both won individual titles.

The Buckeyes went on the road on Sunday to Piscataway, NJ to take on Rutgers. Although it wasn't their best performance of the season, it was definitely good enough to return home with the victory, 195.950-194.050. Individually, OSU took victories in the Vault (Elexis Edwards), and Parallel Bars (Colby Miller).

Next up, Ohio State travels again, this time to Penn State next Sunday.

In what was originally scheduled to be a dual meet between the Buckeyes and Penn State, it turned out to be a quad meet against those same Nittany Lions, in addition to Michigan and Rutgers in the Covelli Center. The Buckeyes scored a 196.000, which is slightly higher than their season average. That score was good enough to finish second behind Michigan (198.025), and ahead of Penn State (195.250) and Rutgers (194.800).

Ohio State was supposed to take on Michigan State for one last dual of the season, but that match has been canceled. Unless another is scheduled at the last minute, next up Ohio State will head to the Big Ten Championships next Saturday.

Competing at the B1G Championships on Saturday in Minneapolis, the Buckeyes posted a 9th place finish, tallying a final score of 195.225. OSU matched their season best on bars, scoring a 49.225, and also tallied a solid score on the bars, putting up a 49.225. Outside of those two events, the Buckeyes really struggled to get things going in the event. Minnesota won the team championship.

Next up, Ohio State heads to the NCAA Regionals, where they were selected to compete in the Morgantown, West Virginia site, April 2. This will be the Buckeyes 42nd all-time regional appearance. They will also be competing against #4 Michigan, #5 California, #12 BYU, #13 UCLA, Towson, Kent State, Penn State and West Virginia. These teams will all be competing for a chance to head to the NCAA Championships.

Competing in regional competition over the weekend, the Buckeyes' run came up a little short. After earning a first round regional bye on Thursday, they headed into the 2nd Round of Regionals in Morgantown, WV. #5 Cal won the regional round, but the Buckeyes finished 2nd to earn a spot in the regional championship round, scoring a 196.525. In this round, they defeated #12 BYU and Towson.

Competing in the Regional Final on Saturday, OSU finished 4th out of 4 teams, with a score of 195.625. Michigan won the regional competition with a 198.100, while Cal finished second with a 197.750, and in third was UCLA with a 197.275. The top two teams advanced to next week's national championship tournament.

Although they didn't earn a spot in the national championship, it was still a successful season for Ohio State.
