Marshall has announced the three finalists for the head coach of the football program

The final selection will be made in a day or two.

The three finalists are :

Brad Lambert - Current Marshall Def Coordinator

Dwayne Ledford - Currently Louisville Offensive Coordinator

Charlie Huff- Currently Alabama Running Back Coach

Kind of slim choice of candidates. Lambert is a Holliday clone. Huff appears to be a great recruiter but can Marshall afford him? Ledford seems to be a journeyman offensive line coach. I am sure all are good people with good football minds. The choices really do not seem to be an upgrade to Doc Holliday.

I couldn’t believe it.


Somethings happened with Doc Holiday and the program.
I still would LOVE to know what happened to the QB that just up n left right before season. Still think maybe that had something to do with this.
Especially now the three names been released.

It be different if they were in a spot. Fielded horrible teams trouble with players. And so forth.

They are re-hiring a Doc Holiday without the name.

Charlie Huff appears to be The Marshall Thundering Herd's new head football coach. Apparently the hire just needs the University's board approval to be official.

Also the existing Herd roster is upset that in house coach Brad Lambert was not chosen.

Now this TOTALLY baffles me and I 110% can agree with the current rosters concerns and frustrations.

Players usually want someone familar with them. Lambert was a big part of the team the last Covid year. Maybe there are somethings we just do not know. The bad part is this happens after signing day. Marshall was seen and heard by more around the country this year. So Huff maybe able to work off that. Coming off the Championship season at Alabama. Now will see how he recruits since Alabama does a lot of recruiting by being Alabama.

What’s your thoughts on Coach Huff and his new position with the Herd ?

Well, he was only in Tuscaloosa for 2 years. He had a stable of good running backs to work with and that is always a plus. I think were he will make a difference is that he was a heck of a recruiter for Alabama. Hopefully, he learned a lot about running a football program in the two years he was with CNSaban. To be 100% honest, I do not know enough about the man to make any specific thoughts. Hopefully, he does well in Huntington.
