The Buckeyes kick off their season this weekend, on Sunday at 1pm in Evanston to be exact, when they play #5 Northwestern. For this season, the Big Ten is doubling up on match-ups. when a team plays, for example, at Rutgers on Friday, they'll also play at Rutgers on Sunday. This will allow for a full slate of games, while cutting down on travel. This is true except for their games against Northwestern and Michigan.

Opening the season against a top 5 team on the road is neve easy, and that was especially the case for the Buckeyes, as they were rolled in Sunday in Evanston, falling to #5 Northwestern, 23-7. The Wildcats had built up an unsurmountable 18-0 lead before OSU finally got their first goal of the game, coming from the stick of Liza Hernandez (she tallied 4 goals on the day). Izzy Scane had an enormous game for Northwestern, tallying 9 goals in addition to 3 assists.

Next up for Ohio State, they'll host Michigan on Sunday.

The Buckeyes got in the win column in a big way last weekend, defeating #9 Michigan 15-12 in Columbus. But, OSU traveled to Rutgers this weekend to play two games, and fell to the 24th ranked team both times, 12-9 and then 10-9.

Next, Ohio State hosts two games against Johns Hopkins next weekend.

Hosting two games against Johns Hopkins over the weekend, the Buckeyes struggled and dropped a pair of heartbreaking, tight games. On Friday, OSU fell 12-11, and then on Sunday, the Buckeyes fell by a single goal yet again, losing 10-9. That makes it three consecutive losses for the Buckeyes that have been by one goal or less.

Next up, Ohio State travels to Maryland next week for a pair of games against the Terrapins on Thursday on Saturday.

The Buckeyes suffered two more setbacks over the weekend on the road at #10 Maryland. On Thursday in College Park, the Buckeyes fell 14-9. And then Sunday proved to be more of the same, as the Terrapins handed OSU another loss, this time 11-5.

Ohio State continues to look to get back on track, they'll host Penn State on both Friday and Sunday this coming week.

OSU picked up two extremely impressive victories over the weekend, defeating #10 Penn State 15-12, and then again on Sunday 11-9. Before the weekend, the Buckeyes were sitting at 1-7, and were really struggling, but hopefully have started turning things around with two wins against a top 10 team.

Next up, Ohio State will host Northwestern on Saturday afternoon.

The Buckeyes have fallen to #2 Northwestern for the second time this season, this time OSU lost 21-14 on Thursday night in Columbus. It was a back and forth game in the first half, as both teams were on pace with each other, as the Buckeyes actually scored the last 4 goals of the first half, and the first goal of the second half. After that, the Wildcats went on a scoring frenzy, 9 unanswered goals, that the Buckeyes were unable to match.

Izzy Scane put up a dominant performance for Northwestern with 11 points (8 goals, 3 assists). Nicole Ferrara led the way for the Buckeyes with 6 points, all of which coming on goals.
