On Friday night, the kicked off their season with a 6-3 victory, but it took extra play, going into 13 innings. Then, in the first game of their doubleheader on Saturday, they were able to pick up a 6-5 win, but the game went a full 9 innings this time. In the nightcap on Saturday, OSU ran away with victory, posting a 12-6 W. On Sunday, the Buckeyes were going for the clean sweep, but the Fighting Illini really came to play in the finale, as Illinois posted an 8-0 victory.

It was a weekend split for the Buckeyes in Minneapolis, as they split a pair of games each with Iowa and Nebraska. It started out a little rough on Friday, as the Buckeyes fell in both their games, first falling to the Hawkeyes 4-0 and then to the Cornhuskers 10-4. OSU came back on Saturday, defeating Iowa 7-4, then finished their weekend comeback against Nebraska on Sunday, winning 6-4.

Ohio State will next head to Piscataway for a 3-game set at Rutgers, this Friday through Sunday.

For the first time this season, the Buckeyes lost a series. OSU traveled to Piscataway, New Jersey over the weekend for a three-game series, in which they lost 1-2. On Saturday, it was a thrilling, tight game, but ultimately, the Buckeyes fell 6-5 in 11 innings. And then on Sunday, The Scarlet Knights picked up a 2-0 victory. Finally, in the series finale on Monday, the Buckeyes picked up a win in the series, pulling out a 4-1 victory.

Next up, Ohio State will play at home in Columbus for the first time this season, when they host Iowa on Friday and Saturday, and Maryland on Sunday and Monday.

The Buckeyes finished up their weekend with two different series splits. On Friday, everything started out great, as OSU earned an 8-2 victory over Iowa, but on Saturday, the Hawkeyes roared back to outduel the Buckeyes 5-1. OSU got back on track on Sunday with a tight, 5-4 win over visiting Maryland, before falling to the Terrapins 9-3 on Monday.

What a weekend series for the Buckeyes! Hosting a 4-game series against Big Ten leading Indiana, the Buckeyes picked up wins in all four games. It all started on Friday, when OSU pulled out a tight, 3-2 victory. Then came a doubleheader on Saturday where the Scarlet and Grey picked up a 5-2 victory in the afternoon, then a 6-0 shutout victory in the evening. Finally, in the series finale on Sunday afternoon, it was a another tight game, but the Buckeyes were victorious, winning 4-3.

What started as a promising weekend, ended in some struggles for the Buckeyes. On Friday, OSU pulled out a 7-4 victory over #25 Michigan in Ann Arbor, but that's where they Buckeye success during this weekend ended. On Saturday, they were shutout by the Wolverines, and then were dominated 16-7 on Sunday afternoon.

Next up, Ohio State looks to put some more wins on the board, when they play a 3-game series at Maryland, beginning on Friday.

Not much positive came out of the Buckeye's trip to College Park over the weekend, as they were swept in a 3-game series by the Terrapins. On Friday, OSU fell to Maryland 10-6. Then on Saturday, it was a heck of a game, but Maryland ultimately pulled away 5-4 in 10 innings. Finally, in the series finale, the Buckeyes fell again, 9-4.

Ohio State will next host a 3-game series against Penn State over next weekend, beginning on Friday.

The Buckeyes picked up wins in two out of three games against Penn State over the weekend, which were much needed. In the series opener they picked up a 11-6 victory on Friday night. OSU continued that momentum on Saturday evening, earning a dominant 7-0 shutout victory. Finally in the series finale, the Buckeyes couldn't keep that momentum going, falling 10-6.

Next, Ohio State will host a three game series against Purdue this weekend, Friday through Sunday.

Although you'd like to come out with a sweep, the Buckeyes had an overall successful weekend, taking 2 out of 3 in a series against Purdue in Columbus. In the opening game, OSU dominated in an 11-3 win on Friday. Not much changed in the headlines for the game on Saturday, as again, the Buckeyes dominated, this time 12-2. Then in the series finale, the Boilermakers got some payback, earning their first victory of the series, defeating OSU 16-15 in a slugfest.

Ohio State now will head to Minneapolis for a 3-game series at Minnesota this coming Friday through Sunday.

This season, a mid-week game is rare, but the Buckeyes traveled to West Lafayette for single mid-week game, and returned to Columbus with a 5-1 victory in hand. OSU did most of their damage in the 2nd inning when they put up 3 runs, which ended up being all they needed, as Garrett Burhenn put up 6 innings of 1 run baseball for the Buckeyes on the mound. Just for some insurance, OSU added 2 more runs in the 7th inning.

A 3-game series against Michigan State in Columbus begins today and runs through Sunday.

Playing a three game series in East Lansing against a poor Michigan State team, the Buckeyes were less than impressive, winning only one out of the 3 games. The offense was alive for OSU in the series opener on Friday, but the problem was that, so was the Spartans', as outslugged OSU 10-7. The second game was all about pitching for both teams, as Michigan State pulled out a 2-0 shutout. Finally in the series finale on Sunday, the Buckeyes got their first victory, winning 7-3.

Next up, Ohio State heads to Bloomington where they'll play two game against Nebraska (Saturday, Sunday) and two games against Indiana (Sunday, Monday).

2022 Buckeyes pathetic late at Michigan this aftgernoon. A 2 run lead with none on and 2 out in the bottom of the 8th, and walk a batter and the next batter hits it over the LF wall to tie the game. Still tied in the bottom of the 9th, the Wolverines expose horrendous Buckeye bunt defense and walk it off with a no out bases loaded single.

Other than not performing at an embarrassing level, does it matter? The Big 10 and Midwest have rarely been relevant in college baseball over the last 50+ years. I would think The University first needs to identify their priorities as to the baseball program before moving forward in finding a new coach.
