US Supreme Court Rules Against NCAA

The US Supreme Court handed down a 9-0 decision that bars the NCAA from enforcing limits or bans on educational related benefits. This appears to be another blow against the pretense of amateurism in college athletics. I do not pretend to know what the immediate effects will be, but the possibility of transparent pay for play over and beyond scholarships may be on the horizon. That and only heaven knows what unintended consequences may develop. While I am a free enterprise type of guy, I worry that college sports will evolve into just more pro leagues, I would find it to be sad if college sports were no longer collegiate.
