Behind EJ Liddell 28 points, Ohio State defeats Michigan 68-57 in Ann Arbor. State shot came 50% from the field to offset Michigan's rebounding edge.

The Buckeyes improve to 15-6 overall and 8-4 in conference play. State remains in 5th place in the Big 10 but are only 1 and 1/2 back of first place Illinois.

OSU survived an overtime game over the weekend to post an 80-69 victory over Indiana. The now 22nd ranked Buckeyes are 10-5 in conference play good for 4th place. State is 17-7 overall.

OSU travels to Illinois to face the 15th ranked Illini who are third in the Big Ten. A victory for OSU is crucial for conference and NCAA seeding. The Buckeyes have a chance at a first round bye in the Big Ten tourney and a possible 4 seed in the dance if they can close strong.

Watch the Buckeyes win on the road over Illinois. Have to say this one shocked me. The slow start was common and then blowing a big lead was common but holding on for the win was shocking.

Pretty much. Ohio State is a team with great talent but inconsistent play. The 86-83 win at Illinois gives OSU an 11-5 conference record, good for fourth place and a two game cushion in the race for a bye in the Big Ten tournament. The Buckeyes close the regular season at Maryland tomorrow, then home games with Nebraska, Sparty, and Michigan. The now 18-7 Buckeyes have an opportunity for a Big Ten championship and favorable NCAA tourney seeding. With their history under Coach Holtmann, they also have a chance of letting opportunity slip away.

Ohio State men's basketball team is upset at Maryland with the Terps winning 75-60.. The only stat that matters is that the Buckeyes only shot 36% from the floor..

OSU remains in 4th place in the Big 10 at 11-6. The Bucks are 2 1/2 games back of first place Wisconsin with 3 games left in the regular sesson State is 18-8 overall.

Next up for OSU is Nebraska, then Sparty and Michigan at home to close out the regular sesson. The Bucks cannot afford to stumble again if they are going to get a bye in the conference tournaments.

Nebraska 78 Ohio State 70.

The last place team in the Big 10 gave the Bucks a stunning home loss. Despite EJ Liddell's 27 points and 16 from Malaki Branham, State stumbled to their second straight loss. Shooting 38% from the floor and 29% from three point land will not win many ballgames.

OSU falls to 11-7 in conference, good for a fifth place tie with Iowa. Next up is Sparty for now 18-9 Buckeyes.

Chalk up the 21-22 season as another year where State suffers an inexplicable collapse after showing top ten promise. OSU can still play for good seeding in the conference and NCAA tourneys, but effort and support from others not named Liddell and Brenham has to be found.

Just like clock work the Bucks doing their late season tailspin.
I didn't watch the game but what happened to Kyle Young? I noticed he only got 8 minutes. He needs to be out there more than that!

Young got hurt and missed the second half, and Zed Key missed the entire game. Still not an excuse.

If they beat one of Sparty or Michigan and win a couple of Big 10 tourney games, most media think OSU could earn anywhere from 5th to 7th seed in the NCAA's. Funny thing, before their current 4-4 stretch, some had State as high as a 2 seed and a definite threat to make the final four.

Ohio State 80 Sparty 69

OSU used a big first half to down Michigan State. Malaki Brenham canned 22 points and EJ Liddell 19 for the Bucks but it was 18 points from little used center Joey Brunk that was the difference. Also shooting 54% from the floor did not hurt as opposed to less than 40% in their last two losses.

The Buckeyes now stand 12-7 in conference play, good for fourth place. State is 19-9 overall and close out the regular season at home this weekend against Michigan.

Ohio State is in a three way battle with Iowa and Rutgers for the 4th seed and a bye in the Big Ten tourney. The Buckeye loss to Nebraska was damning as it looks like State would lose tie breakers to both Iowa and Rutgers.

Michigan 75 Ohio State 69

The regular season has reached a merciful end. Michigan overcame a 7 point half time deficit with s 14-1 run midway through the last stanza to seal the game.

Statistically, OSU out rebounded UM and had a better shooting percentage, but turnovers including 11 steals by the Wolverines gave them more shots on goal.

State finished 12-8 in conference play, tied with Rutgers for 5th place. However the Buckeyes lose the tiebreaker with RU and will have the sixth seed in the upcoming tournament. OSU will play on Thursday against the winner of Penn State vs Minnesota or Nebraska.

After a big win against Duke and challenging for the top spot in the Big 10 as little as 4 weeks ago, Coach Holtmann's team suffers another late season collapse.
