College Football Coaching Carousel

Post by Omega »

28 out of the 130 FBS college football teams have a new head coach. That is a 21 % turnover rate. Coaches are now fired and hired before the CFB season end due to recruiting and the early signing period.

Team (New Coach)
LSU (Brian Kelly)
USC (Lincoln Riley)
Florida (Billy Napier)
Virginia Tech (Brent Pry)
TCU (Sonny Dykes)
Washington (Kalen Deboer)
Washington State (Jake Dickert)
Texas Tech (Joey McGuire)
SMU (Rhett Lashlee)
Louisiana Tech (Sonny Cumbie)
UConn (Jim Mora Jr)
UMass (Don Brown)
Georgia Southern (Clay Helton)
New Mexico State (Jerry Kill)
Akron (Joe Moorhead)
Troy (Jon Sumrall)
Notre Dame (Marcus Freeman)
Louisiana (Michael Desormeaux)
Oklahoma (Brent Venables)
Miami (Mario Cristobal)
Colorado State (Jay Norvell)
FIU (Mike Macintyre)
Fresno State (Jeff Tedford)
Nevada (Ken Wilson)
Virginia (Tony Elliott)
Duke (Mike Elko)
Oregon (Dan Lanning)
Temple (Stan Drayton)

One has to ask was this mass turnover a one time thing or is it part of the new era in CFB with NIL pay and one time free agency for players. Thoughts please.
