I think the "can't win the big one" brought up by so many people is still the fact that the men's & women's basketball has won all those big ten titles in a row but go down in the NCAA tournament in the first and second rounds every year to teams like Sienna, Marist, Boston College who shouldn't even be able keep the game close if Ohio State was as good as advertised in the polls, media and everywhere else and when they do play a decent out of conference opponent (and this goes for football too) they lose almost all the "big" games to the "big name" teams. Ohio State's wins in the last few bowl games they've played have been against the Oregon's, Arizona State's, Texas A&M's, Kansas States, etc. (not perrenial national powers) but all the losses are to the USC's, LSU's, Florida's, Texas's etc. which are the NATIONAL POWERS. This is why the big ten and Ohio State are portrayed in the national media this way and if you look at the results, we can't argue the facts. As far as classiest coaches, maybe but with their salaries (Tressel and Matta are in the top 2 or 3 in their sports) they should be doing better if based on performance including out of conference and all tournaments. They don't have to pay back any money if they don't win the big one's but gain much more when they do anything over the minimum. It's gotten way out of hand with the salaries and even when they do cut coaches loose you've gotta pay them millions or get sued by their attorney's. But, that's the way society is nowadays so the more the merrier I guess. If you can get it, take it.
