Heading into the final frame this one was locked up at 24, then the Golden Eagles (7-6) scored two touchdowns to pull off the win over a bad Rice (5-80 team. The story in this one was the excellent performance by Frank Gore Jr. (Miami, FL_ who set a Southern Miss record with 329 yards on just 21 carries with 2 touchdowns. Gore also completed 2-3 passes for 19 yards and a touchdown. Daylen Gill (Louisville, MS) led the winners with 11 tackles including 3 sacks.
