#13 Ohio (27-7) vs. #4 Michigan (24-9) NCAA Midwest Regional

Post by NYBuckeye96 »

Michigan is 3-0 against Ohio but hasn’t faced the school since 1971. The teams met in the NCAA tournament in 1964, with Michigan winning 69-57 to advance to the Final Four.

GO BOBCATS!!!!!!!!!!! MAKE THEM REMEMBER WHO "OHIO" REALLY IS!!!!!!

I was at the selection show watch in Athens. When they announced Michigan, the room had a collective "bring 'em on" type banter. When they announced our name, I would like to say the room erupted but it wouldn't do it justice.

GO CATS!

The selection committee showed a great sense of humor when they booked this matchup.

God help UM if they lose. All that Ohio talk will be brought back on them.

THEY WONT EVEN MAKE IT OUT OF THE FIRST ROUND. FIRST FOR STARTERS THEY PLAY IN THE MAC . TERRIBLE CONFRNCE THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BEAT A MICHIGAN TEAM THAT PLAYS AT TWICE THE LEVEL OF COMPETITION U JUST WAIT AND SEE OU WILL LOSE

These teams should be evenly matched up size wise and OU almost won at Louisville earlier this year so they can play with the big boys, should be a competitive game but I would take UM by a small margin, but I hope Im wrong,if Michigan is hitting their outside shots they should win

OU is a very talented team that is very capable of beating most teams in the nation. (I wouldnt say they can beat UK, UNC, etc) But, unfortunately, in my bracket I will be advancing Michigan in this one. Hopefully I am wrong, go get em 'Cats!

I also have to say I have seen this OU team play, and they are talented. They can upset UM, and I hope they do. Go Bobcats!

The thing that gives um trouble is being physical with them and having a great post game. I don't see that out of Ohio university. You never know come tournament time.

My 2 favorite teams are tOSU and whoever plays Michigan.

Michigan's last outing was borderline aweful to a stingy OSU defense. I think OU will watch that game film closely and try to mimic what OSU did defensively. This one has the makings of an upset.

Go Bobcats!

Tell that to Georgetown. Two years ago, OU beat Georgetown who was seeded higher than Michigan is this year.

Wow, you are really going out on a limb with that bold prediction. Michigan is suppossed to win, they are the favorite, they are the big boy on the block. But, Ohio University has a fine program, some quality players, they will have the best player on the floor in the form of DJ Cooper. I am sure Georgetown fans and most of America did not think the Cats could beat the Hoyas either.

No offense to dj cooper but trey Burke will be the best player on the floor followed by Tim hardaway jr. Ou can't mimic sullinger, craft, and a lot of length. This ou team is not the same team that beat grown, silly to think with that logic. Could they beat um? Sure. Will they though, I highly doubt it.

Can OU play physical D at all spots?
Cab OU get rebounds on a consistent basis? UM misses a lot of shots!
Can OU slow down Trey Burke? NO
Can OU keep UM out of the paint for put back baskets on rebounds off missed 3s?

They must do all of the above to beat UM.

I think Burke goes for 30, and UM wins by 10+.

But... I'm pulling for OU!

yea this team is better than the team back when they beat Georgetown, more experience, this team wasn't expected at the beginning of the season to win their conference and they have a better record, and i've seen Ohio play more than just on TV, I'll be very surprised if burke goes for 30 let alone 20, I'm not saying Burke won't go off but Cooper and Offutt are good defensive players, as long as Ohio plays defense and rebound they have a very good shot
