I believe it starts Monday Feb. 15th with the semifinals on Saturday Feb. 20th & the finals on Thursday Feb. 25th.
The teams you listed are correct.

I have the bracket at work, tomorrow I'll try to get it posted.

Should be a good tourney. Looking forward to it.

Games for tonight [2/15] have been cancelled.
AD's plan to get together today to schedule the new tourney dates.

I have a question to any body in the know. I heard last week that Notre Dame was in a catholic tournament and are going to play in another tournament now at Eastern. According to what I've been told, you can only play in one tournament. What am I missing here?

Ryanexpress, Any word on the new dates yet. Am really excited to see the 7th grade play in this tournament since they are finally healthy again. They should be bringing a first place trophy back to Latham.

Last I heard [which I do not think is 100% certain yet] the start date of the tourney will now be Saturday 2/20.
I believe they are trying their best not to interfere with each teams HS tourney schedule.

I will post just as soon as I find out for sure.

Maybe because the tournament was in KY? Why does it matter anyway, this is just junior high basketball. Let the kids play.

Just telling you that a former AD at Northwest said "OHSAA rules are for Junior high, 14 regular season games, and 1 tournament"

Why are you so worried? Are you trying to get ND in trouble. I haven't seen no1 else complain but you

You kill me stump 353. You are the same person who posted, and I quote-"Is it true that Clay is filming ND games when ND is playing other teams? Is this legal?" I can't answer the "filming" question, but this answer though is NO! I just was telling you that in talking with a dear old friend, actually 2 years ago, that I wondered why the Clay teams didn't play in any tournaments over the holidays, he told me the fact of 14 regular season games, and 1 tournament. Your future apology is accepted.

Why should i apologize? I didn't know thats the reason why you asked. I guess it's ok because the AD would of said something if it wasn't. Plus the tournament was in KY so I don't know if that matters or not. The kids just want to play ball! Have any of the games been played yet?

Jake, first of all, no we don't film other teams games. Second, I don't care about ND's games, other than I wish them well in their tournament. Stump 353, I will say this though, it is an OHSAA rule without exception, Section 1.7; A student-athlete grades 7-8 may play a maximum 56 quarters plus 1 post season tournament not to exceed 4 games by one team. I wanted to hold a holiday tournament a few years ago, but was given this explanation.

I remember seeing that ND played Hunt. St. Joe and lost,As far as the rule states, you are aloud
one post season tourn.,but can play in season tourney as long as you do not excede the 14 games.

As a former middle school basketball coach, this is true. ND is a public school correct?
I do agree with the "Let them play" attitude.
In biddy league they can play as many games as they can, but in 7th & 8th grade it is 17. 14 reg season & 3 game tournament if they make it to the championship or some tourny's have a third place game.
On-the-other hand most middle schools are not concidered members of OHSAA ( HS = high school), but follow it's rules as a guideline.
Parochial schools may not be subject to the rules, not sure.

Great seventh grade game yesterday. Western and Jackson both played well. It is a shame someone had to lose. That was the best seventh grade team Western has seen all year and they pushed the Indians right till the end. Great win by Western with some huge free throws at the end. Never heard a gym that loud for a seventh grade game. Great job by both teams and coaches and fans. Western now plays Notre Dame on Wednesday at 6:30. Good luck Indians. You are making all of us so proud.

Semifinal games from Wednesday night:

8th Grade:

Jackson over Notre Dame in 1st game
Chillicothe over Waverly in 2nd game

Eastern & Western played the consolation game. I am not sure of the winner of that contest

7th Grade:

Chillicothe over Eastern in 1st game
Western over Notre Dame in 2nd game

Jackson over Waverly in the consolation game

Finals will be Saturday 2/27 with consolation games starting at 10:00AM & championship games to follow.

8th Grade championship game: Jackson vs Chillicothe
7th Grade championship game: Western vs Chillicothe
