Valley 7th Grade is by far the best group in that grade. Closest game was to Burg and Valley won by 19. The only team they have yet to play is Waverly due to the game being canceled. But it doesn't seem that they will challenge them either. Great group of boys who are unselfish. Hoping there will be some competitive games for the second half of the season.

Watched an undefeated Western Brown 8th grade team this weekend along with probably the best player I have seen this year. #12 dropped an easy 32 points along with 8 or 9 assists. He passed up quite a few shots for easier layups for his teammates. They also have a few impressive athletic big guys. Players 1-6 they are the best team I have seen this year. Not sure why the coach left everyone in midway through the 4th up 30 but that is another story.

Any word if they are still having the county (Scioto) tournament at South Webster this year?

I've heard that the tournament will begin Monday, Feb.7.
I look for Burg 8th grade and Valley 7th grade to win the tournament. However, I think Webster and Valley 8th could give Burg some competition.

I have boys in both 7th and 8th... have watched LOTS of ball this year. :D

My personal opinion, 8th grade Burg is 10+ pts better than any other 8th grade team I've seen in SE Ohio (I haven't seen them all). High IQ and couple of really skilled players.
Ironton, Jackson and South Webster are all playing in the sandbox behind them. Miami Trace is a good group too, they beat Jackson 8th by 3 back in early December, but Jackson 8th has beat them TWICE since then, pretty handily.

7th grade is a little closer competition, I believe.
Ironton is pretty solid and athletic.
Burg was pretty good also. Jackson right there somewhere behind them, as well.
But I don't think there's a real standout in FAC. I'm sure there are a couple more that could be in the conversation.
I've heard Valley 7th is really legit.

I unfortunately don't get to see as many of the Scioto County teams now that 7th/8th leagues are established (we're FAC)... and we are no longer just hitting tournaments like 6th grade and before.

I do not think the SOC does a regular season championship. Just the post season county tournament at South Webster. I pulled those brackets from South Webster's Facebook page. It looks like they are streaming the girls games this week, so I would expect they would be doing the same for the boys this weekend and next week.

Last night in the SOC tournament for 7th grade Boys, West defeated Minford and will play Valley. Northwest defeated Webster and will play Burg.

For the 7th grade girls, Valley plays Green for the championship.

7th Grade Boys championship set: Burg vs Valley. Should be a good game. They split games this year. Valley won the first match by 19 and Burg won the second match by 2. Game tomorrow at 6:00. Will know who will be playing for 8th Grade after games this evening.

8th Grade Boys SOC tournament final will be Valley vs Minford.

Minford shocked the world yesterday and not only beat Burg 8th grade who has been undefeated throughout their jr. high time, but put it to them. Sad way for Burg to go out, but a big congrats to Minford for there solid win last night.

Valley was down by quite a few early on, but settled down late and pulled out a 3 point victory. Valley held Webster to zero 4th quarter points.

Championship games were supposed to be this evening, but are now changed to Thursday evening.

7th Grade - Valley vs Burg - 6:00
8th Grade - Valley vs Minford - 7:30
