Jeannine Aversa, AP Economics Writer
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The nation's unemployment rate jumped to 8.5 percent in March, the highest since late 1983, as a wide swath of employers eliminated 663,000 jobs. It's fresh evidence of the toll the recession has inflicted on America's workers, and economists say there's no relief in sight.

So that means that 91.5% are still working. Not bad if you look at it that way. ![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Government statistics seem pretty unreliable to me when you look at how they do everything else

...then why are you using them to state that 91.5% are still working?
I was just doing the math from NCF's post.

The plant I work at is shutting down at the end of June so you can add another 100 jobs to that list.

OK, I'm combining threads - BUT when/if you lose your job or get sick or hurt [or anything else bad happens to your family] just remember/understand that it's all your own sinful fault and YOU caused these bad things?
.This is still a world where the majority of it's inhabitants continue to demand free will, rejecting God's control over their lives. Misfortune and misery is a frequent result of such rebellion

A father of three young children gets off work on a Friday. As he clocking out, the foreman hands him his paycheck for the week. The man, instead of going home, heads to the bank..cashes his check and heads to the dog track. He gets drunk and starts gambling...he gets behind but knows that if he continues to play, he'll not only win back what he lost earlier in the evening but he'll make some extra to boot. A couple hours later..he staggers out to his car..feeling so guilty as he has gambled away almost his entire paycheck...
What will he tell his wife and kids who are at home waiting? There will be no paying the bills that week...what groceries that are still in the house will have to be stretched out till the next Friday. He'll have to call a relative or a friend the next day even and borrow some money to get gasoline to even get to work the next week. The kids will be bitterly disappointed as they were looking forward to going to the movie the next day..not to mention, the fridge is going to be kinda bare..
Poor kids and wife...they never done anything wrong...yet, they'll suffer...
Moral of the story? Often times, the innocent suffer right along side the guilty.
