It's simple Buck I and really easy to understand.
We celibrate the birth od Jesus at Christmas.
We as humans need some sort of "Proof" to remind us of Jesus. So Dec. 25th of every year We put up a tree spend hundreds of dollars on things for ourselves and family members and say we are celebrating the birth of Jesus.
At some point in History and I would have to agree with my2cents on this some MAN decided putting up a tree, lights, and trading gifts to remind people of this birth would aide in bringing more people ot christ.
Don't know if it was a catholic or not really don't care. as I said we don't really celibrate christmas that way in our home. But I do have to agree putting up that tree and trading gifts and saying you are doing it to remember Christ is sort of like Idolarity.
Easter is sort of the same way instead it is used in rememberence of the death of jesus. this time a rabbit and eggs were used. Again it has been said that the catholics started this, again I don't care just as Christmas our family does not celebrate this with a rabbit and eggs. And again I have to agree the using the "symbols" of easter and saying you are doing this in remeberence od Jesus who died and rose again is sort of like idolarity.
What I do find funny is MOST christians put down Halloween, and have turned it into the "devils celibration" and yet it is the ONE time (minus the candy and costumes) we should be celebrating according to the Bible.
"Celebrate the Festival of the Harvest with the first produce harvested from whatever you plant in your fields. "Celebrate the Festival of the Final Harvest at the end of the year when you harvest your crops from the fields
Now here the question that always stumps people since we are on the subject of Idolarity.
Christians have a cross hanging in the church, we buy jewlery with a cross on it.
Yet the bible tells us NO IMAGES bbefore GOD. is not the CROSS a symbol? and Idol of sorts that is worshiped that we say we do for GOD?
