When you enter Wal-Mart... do you have a plan?

Post by carbon_dated »

Every time I go into any Wal-Mart I usually figure on buying 3 or 4 things and wind up with 20. Anyone else do the same thing? That store is a bad habit I'm tellin' ya, but I still wind up in there once a week.

However, when it comes to groceries I stick with Kroger's.

No doubt that clearance aisle has some great deals. Bought a giant toaster oven there for $5, went back and bought 2 more, then took them to Rink's flea market and sold them for $25 each.

I do...at the Ashland Walmart..first, I look around and wonder where I can park at that my car or truck won't be smashed by one of those run-away-buggy's that the lazy people who are too lazy to put them in the buggy corrals leave out. The next thing I focus on is that blast of air that comes down out of the ceiling and blows my hair all over my head when I walk in the door there! Today, I covered the top of my head with both hands and jumped through it..then, I had to speak to that lady who sits there just to speak to you. Sometimes, I try to get someone between me and them so I don't have to be bothered. I'm not in the mood to exchange pleasantries

I took my 16 old month great niece with me for hardly anything and wound up with her grabbing 50 bucks worth of stuff. I don't know what it will be like when she's 3 or 4. She'll probably get everything thats in my checking account. She has me totally wrapped

My plan is to always go in and get what I want and leave, but I always end up visiting with all the people I used to work with.

If I was KYII niece this is what I would be writing about my day at walmart with uncle tuck.

I went to the Ashland Walmart with my Uncle Tuck, first we drove around and around as he wondered where we can park at that his car or truck won't be smashed by one of those run-away-buggy's that the lazy people who are too lazy to put them in the buggy corrals leave out, we finnally found a place way down at the end of the lot on top of a iceberg.... After putting his running board in the back of the truck, The next thing we focused on was getting his wig back on after the blast of air that comes down out of the ceiling blowed his hair all over the store when we walk in the door there! you would think he would have covered the top of his head with both hands and jumped through it..then, Uncle tuck had to speak to that lady who sits there just to speak to you for two hours. I tryed to get someone between her and us so uncle Tuck wouldnt stay there again untill I fall a sleep. I dont remember nothing about walmart after that, because I woke up and we was at home. He said he bought me a new doll but I think thats my old raggady ann doll.I ask him about it but he said I'm not in the mood to exchange pleasantries. Wonder what that means??? Going to Walmart is more fun with grandma with us.

I would like to see Wal-Mart have some competition around here.

I like going to Meijer anytime I am near one.

I would never go to Wal-Mart again if Meijer had a store around here.

I disagree on both counts - Meijers is nice, but way more expensive, esp on clothes, and Lowes has Home Depot beat hands down. I want a K-Mart back!!! Their clothes fit me better; their tools and gadgets were way better quality and price.
Many times I drove past both Wal-Mart and Lowes to go to K-Mart. I'm so sad to see them close. But I'm even more sad to do without Big Lots [for everything but clothes] here in Ironton. THAT'S the place I could never go for 1 thing and not come out with 20!!!!!

caglewis, you can still go to kmart in new boston, where OZZIES wife works.

and I would rather pay a coupe extra dollars at home depo then wait on lowes for an hour to get loaded
