Jun 3rd 2010 11:25AM
Rue McClanahan, one of the last remaining 'Golden Girls,' has died after suffering a stroke, PEOPLE reports. She was 76 years old.
"She passed away at 1 a.m. this morning. She had a massive stroke," her manager, Barbara Lawrence, said.
McClanahan "had her family with her. She went in peace," Lawrence added.
The actress was best known for her role as the saucy Blanche Deveraux on 'Girls.'
McClanahan had a stroke earlier this year, when she was recovering from heart bypass surgery.
Her 'Golden' co-stars Estelle Getty and Bea Arthur passed away in July of 2008 and April of 2009 respectively.

Re: Rue McClanahan Has Passed Away
Those Golden Girls ladies were a great bunch!!! That show recalibrated the "rules" of TV sitcoms by proving that talent, humor, and audience appreciation had no "age" restrictions or limitations! Great, funny, talented ladies - another of whom will be missed. Wasn't Rue McClanahan just plain GREAT at being SEXY throughout her whole career never mind her age?

These things always come in 3's Gary Coleman, Dennis Hopper, and now Rue McClanahan. Now Betty White is the last Golden Girl. Very sad.

When I was a kid, I wondered who would be the last Golden Girl alive, and I decided that the s lut would outlive them all! Looks like I was wrong. RIP Rue.
