Ohio----The number of bankruptcy filing in the state last year fell to the lowest total since 2006. The roughly 50,600 personal and business bankruptcies in 2012 mark a drop of 14% from 2011, according to data from the state's tow U.S. bankruptcy court districts.

Companies should face tougher bankruptcy laws. They use it all the time to get rid of obligations they willingly made. If they file, it should be to dissolve the company, prevent payouts on golden parachutes and any money from the proceeds needs to go to the former employees.

Agree, but alot of people who foolishly overextend themselves pull the same stunt.

New York---Getzville: Geico announced plans to hire 800 people for its Buffalo-area office this year. Geico employs 2,400 people at the service center.

Wyoming----Gillette:--Campbell County leads the state in reported flu cases this year with 402 confirmed cases through the week of Jan. 6/12. The state has nearly 2,500 confirmed cases of flu.

Ohio---Cincinnati: City leaders and a power company have agreed to let a judge decide who should have to pay roughly $15 million to move gas and electrical lines for a streetcar project.Duke energy has agreed to begin the work at its own expense in the meantime to avoid delaying the $110 million streetcar from opening in 2015.

Arkansas--Little Rock:--The auto club AAA said gas prices in Arkansas have gone up 17 cents in the past week. The average price of a gallon of gasoline is $3.34 as of Monday. A week ago, it was $3.17 per gallon.

North Dakota---------Williston----This booming oil patch city is getting even bigger. The City Commission approved an annexation to the north of about 7.5 square miles of land. About 500 property owners are effected.
