Yea, I like my Mopars, but currently Im on a Ford kick.....Current playtoy is an 80 Fairmont w/408 stroker, GT-40 heads, roller cam, recently went w/ gear to gear timing, Harland Sharp rockers, 1050 dominator carb....Lenco 2 speed tranny w/ airshift.....Ford 9in. diff w/4.56 ratio. in.

back in late summer/ early fall, we were running 4.88 gears in the rear, but durring the holidays, my boys loaded the car on the trailer and headed down south to a track that a friend of mine works at. They tuned on the carb and the 4 link, upgraded the ignition system, and got the motor up near 650hp and ran a best time of 9.77 @ 143.254mph.

The ride aint much to look at but our original goal was to build a car that would be able to run mid to low 10s for under $6500
Ford Foxbody was the perfect choice......had to fabricate my own subframe connectors though......cost does not include that, the purchase of the car, or the 12 point rollcage......those 3 things didnt total more that $1000........and didnt include tires and rims.....got another $1500 there.
Expensive hobby to do all the time, but Daniel will soon be 21 and Caleb is 19 (I waited until I was in my early 30s to be a dad)....how much longer do they want to do something with dad? But it was worth every penny for what they have learned to do and the time we got to spend togeather

Id love to have an old 6 pack or tri power musclecar just for the value of it but those big single 4 bbls are so much easier to tune.

Most of the six packs just looked good with the hood up.

They did look pretty cool....plus, if you knew someone that was good at tuning multiple carbs, they would make gobs of power. Those old Pontiac super-dutys running tri-powers were just as intimidating as the 6-pack Mopars.
