I don't think there is a way to recover it. My daughter had one that started acting up that had all of her college stuff on it. Luckily she had everything backed up on cd-r's.

Are you sure its not the USB port going bad. They are known to as well. Try another one if you have one available or another pc.

you might try one more thing. try the flash drive in any computer you come across, you never know with a flash drive, it may work well enough to get the info you need off of it.

I've never had a flash drive crash but many a hard drive. I've lost tons of stuff, more than I'll ever know I even lost. I have considered investing in one of these flashdrives that comes with six months free online back up and then you have to pay. It might be worth your while to consider especially since you travel, plus it's really cute. :) My current flashdrive is pink alligator skin. 8)

Well, the Cruzer doesn't go on sale until March, so we still have a while to wait. What I need to do is to spend one day going through all my discs and my hard drives and saving them to a flashdrive. I have stuff scattered too many places. I need to become high-tech organized. I'd probably get the Cruzer and forget to save my stuff to it, too.
