What Route do you Take to Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach is where a lot of people from this area head to. Just wondering what roads you take to get there. We have been fortunate the last few years to find a new way that shaves off a couple of hours.
What are your secrets?

Re: What Route do you Take to Myrtle Beach
The route we took resulted in a 500-mile drive from Ironton. It took us about 9 hours and 15 minutes to get to the beach.
Re: What Route do you Take to Myrtle Beach
I will post the route we take later as soon as I find them
We usually stop twice(once for gas and another time for restroom/snack) and we get there in about 8 1/2 hours. We do not go that much over the speed limit plus we have my dad following us in another car as well.

that would be...US 52 to Huntington, cross the first bridge, go west on I-64 and take the Tri-state Airport exit to the airport

Does anyone else go over towards Winston Salem or do you stick to the old Charlotte way?

The hubby did make it down there in 8 hours once but he was by himself and made one stop for gas. I am sure he was doing the speed limit the whole way![Razz ](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

Don't take IR74 stay on 52 south to Lexington (Home of the best Barbecue pork in America) Then take NC state route 64 east to Asheboro part of it is two lane but the traffic is light only locals. pretty views of rural America and it saves time ![Very Happy :-D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
