Heres my question maybe its me, but this has no significance to me what so ever. Abortion on my political scale doesnt even register a .1 out of 10 on topics Im worried about. So let me ask why are some people especially men so fiery over this topic? I just wonder why?

The glory of Israel will fly away like a bird, for your children will die at birth or perish in the womb or never even be conceived. Even if your children do survive to grow up, I will take them from you. It will be a terrible day when I turn away and leave you alone. I have watched Israel become as beautiful and pleasant as Tyre. But now Israel will bring out her children to be slaughtered." O LORD, what should I request for your people? I will ask for wombs that don't give birth and breasts that give no milk. The LORD says, "All their wickedness began at Gilgal; there I began to hate them. I will drive them from my land because of their evil actions. I will love them no more because all their leaders are rebels. The people of Israel are stricken. Their roots are dried up; they will bear no more fruit. And if they give birth, I will slaughter their beloved children." (Hosea 9:11-16 NLT)
Made in his image.

You're not God, you might have been created in His image but you aren't God. God has the right to do as He pleases. He is long suffering and delights in showing mercy. Those that continually reject His mercy shall answer for their actions when GOD says it's time. Those that accept His Mercy in His Son will escape that same judgement...as if they had never sinned

Obama makes me want to puke my guts out! The Man is a evil plague upon this nation!
WASHINGTON, D.C., January 23, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Marking the 39th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, President Barack Obama reaffirmed his commitment to the “fundamental constitutional right” to abortion.

“I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose and this fundamental constitutional right,” the president said in a brief statement on Jan. 22nd.

“As we mark the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we must remember that this Supreme Court decision not only protects a woman’s health and reproductive freedom, but also affirms a broader principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters,” he continued.

Calling the anniversary of Roe v. Wade “historic,” the president added, “While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue- no matter what our views, we must stay united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant woman and mothers, reduce the need for abortion, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption.”

The statement comes as religious leaders accuse President Obama of an attack on the constitutional right to freedom of religion after his administration announced Friday that they will force employers to fund abortion-inducing contraceptive drugs, as well as other contraceptives.

Hundreds of thousands of pro-life citizens are expected to gather Monday at the National Mall in Washington for the annual March for Life.

The No Religious Test Clause of the United States Constitution is found in Article VI, paragraph 3, and states that:
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.

The First Amendment provides that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...."

This is America. Don't like it? Too bad

They have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happeniess. Obama and those like him have enslaved the child before birth and have taken away these self-evident rights

Was Ronald Reagan ever pro-choice? Did he champion and sign pro-choice legislation in 1967 when governor of California? Was he "adamantly pro-choice," and outspoken protector of a woman's right to choose?

It has been said that he was, indeed, "adamantly pro-choice." It's quite an accusation, and it is not true. First, if words mean anything, it is a false accusation. According to Merriam-Webster, for one to be adamant, he must be "unshakable or insistent especially in maintaining a position or opinion." To be pro-choice, one must be a proponent of a woman's right to choose legally to abort her child and in favor of legal abortion on demand. Governor Reagan did not favor the general legalization of abortion and did not hold that a woman had a right to terminate her pregnancy, and he most certainly was not adamant about it.

We have examined this within our RedState community -- here, here, and here -- but we have not reviewed what actually happened in 1967, when Governor Reagan signed California's 1967 Therapeutic Abortion Act.

And to think it all started with the "Gipper"

It's the current law of the land. Don't get an abortion and then you have nothing to fear with God come judgement day. In the mean time, mind your own business. It's not your baby, it's not your soul, it's not your problem.

The Apostle Paul was on The Road To Damascus in order to kill more Christians when he literally and figuratively, 'Saw The Light' which caused him to change his mind or...as another way of saying it was that he 'repented' which means to change one's mind.

Reagan also 'saw the light' on this abortion thing and repented of his sin of supporting abortion...it's evident that he was profoundly pro-life.
Strong evidence of Reagan’s pro-life stance came in 1983 – the 10th anniversary of Roe v. Wade -- when he submitted an essay to the Human Life Review, the publication founded by James P. McFadden, a former journalist turned pro-life activist. Maria McFadden, who now is at the helm of her late father’s quarterly journal, said McFadden knew the document was real when it was delivered by the White House with notes and revisions on its pages, written in the president’s own hand-writing.

In the first paragraph of the lengthy essay, Reagan cut to the chase: “The consequences of this judicial decision are now obvious: since 1973, more than 15 million unborn children have had their lives snuffed out by legalized abortions. That is over ten times the number of Americans lost in all our nation's wars.”

Reagan said that abortion-on-demand is not a right guaranteed by the Constitution and that “Roe v. Wade has become a continuing prod to the conscience of the nation.”

Reagan quoted Mother Teresa, who said, "the greatest misery of our time is the generalized abortion of children."

“The real question today is not when human life begins, but, What is the value of human life? Reagan wrote. “The abortionist who reassembles the arms and legs of a tiny baby to make sure all its parts have been torn from its mother's body can hardly doubt whether it is a human being.”

“The real question for him and for all of us is whether that tiny human life has a God-given right to be protected by the law—the same right we have,” Reagan wrote.

Reagan cites in the essay the challenges of morality and governance, writing about his support for life-affirming legislation and even a constitutional amendment.

“As we continue to work to overturn Roe v. Wade, we must also continue to lay the groundwork for a society in which abortion is not the accepted answer to unwanted pregnancy,” Reagan wrote. “Pro-life people have already taken heroic steps, often at great personal sacrifice, to provide for unwed mothers. I recently spoke about a young pregnant woman named Victoria, who said, ‘In this society we save whales, we save timber wolves and bald eagles and Coke bottles. Yet, everyone wanted me to throw away my baby.’”

“Abraham Lincoln recognized that we could not survive as a free land when some men could decide that others were not fit to be free and should therefore be slaves,” Reagan concluded. “Likewise, we cannot survive as a free nation when some men decide that others are not fit to live and should be abandoned to abortion or infanticide.”

“My administration is dedicated to the preservation of America as a free land, and there is no cause more important for preserving that freedom than affirming the transcendent right to life of all human beings, the right without which no other rights have any meaning,” said the president.

if god is so anti abortion then why does he allow it to happen? Seems like a such a loving figure with unlimited power would step in. I haven't seen it happen yet.

Not only that, but why haven't the Republicans put a stop to it in the years that they controled the Presidency, the Congress, the House, and the Senate? This could have been overturned by now if they really wanted it to be overturned, but then what would their political stance be?

Free will. There is a day coming in the near future when God is for sure going to step in. In the mean time, what does the Word say about man's heart? it is 'desperately wicked above all things'

I reserve sex for within my marriage and I trust my wife to do the right thing when it comes to our kids. In our home, abortion is not an option. If you are afraid your sex partner might abort your baby, you had no business giving her the business in the first place.

The problem with the abortion issue isn't that I want one and I want it to stay legal, it's that it's someone dictating my morality. In this case, I can handle the decree. I don't have any use for an abortion. What I fear is down the road, someone can dictate that Catholics can't do communion anymore because it's cannabalism, or now have to attend an approved church or I'm an outlaw. The abortion issue is a power grab by the Christian right, and once they "win" they'll go after more. Next it's "demon rum", or pornography, or dirty books, or . . . the list goes on. They've done it before and I don't want it. I don't want to be told to do or not do what my conscience can tell me all by itself.
