Who ran/owned it in the 70's Noreply? They had some pretty good bands in there sometimes.

Think his name was Keyes, lives in Athens and does/did have a business. Hope I don't have him mixed up with another bar owner. Great guy--think he was a ALL/Ohio in football.

Good friend of mine Kess Keyes he owned the bar for a few years and then later started Athens Business Machine, I do believe. Was about 6'4' and weighed 270- 290 in his playing days at Martins Ferry and OU Saw him a few years ago at Kroger's in Athens.

I was told that Les had cameras in different places in the bar and he could sit home and if there had been trouble the night before he could go back and see where it all started. Great help for the police.

Les could set at home and watch everything on several monitors he had in his den. Live Cameo.

Sam Jarvis did that at his place,he could see what was going on at all times right from his house.I would love to have something like that,I bet you could really see some interesting stuff and it would be a huge help to police.

Sam's place? Had a few cold ones in there too. That place would get wild on some weekends. Had to watch your back in there on busy nights. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Went there a few times when it was The First and Last. Some nights it was time to go home when I got that far.

I liked that name. The name really went well. First (chance) bar in town if you came in from the west, and the last (chance) bar in town if you was headed out from the east. 8-) :D

East Hunter about 1/2 block past the post offices. Geil had it on the far West side at one time.
