I don't think anyone knows if it is toxic algae yet. ODNR is supposed to be testing I think.

I'll take the algae over raw sewage.

I haven't heard anything to that affect yet either flush. but whatever it is I hope they get a handle on it quickly. especially for the wildlife.

Lake Logan has sewage and algae problems. The whole upper end was almost filled up with algae last time I was out there. Also that little swamp over by Jerrys is pretty much an algae pit now days.

a neighbor told me yesterday they were taking pictures of the algea bloom yesterday in front of his house. reps from the odnr. he had been in the water days before, and was covered in blisters and a terrible rash before he knew about it.

it's bad flush, I just put a bunch of pictures on my facebook page as well, tom Osborne 57 years old waverly, ohio. took about 20 pictures from my boat dock.
you can't fish, swim or anything here at my place. maybe skip a topwater frog that's it. I know a friend of mine is ate up with really bad blistering and rashes from being in it this weekend. and had to get treatment for it. he said there was an odnr truck taking pictures of the bloom the other day.

I just saw a link on facebook about the algea bloom. on the lake white community facebook page. and it states the odnr is not doing any testing, not doing anything about it. and advising people basically to use the lake at their own discretion. even though they were taking pictures documenting the situation here. that's awful in my opinion.

the lake use has grinded to a halt. as numerous people have gotten sick from being in the water. looks like it may be done for this year. unless you are just out boating. it's a serious algea bloom.

Gotta be something they can do to clear that stuff up a little. Let it go and it could be worse for next year. I read where Ponds and Lakes can be treated to rid most of it safely and it won't hurt fish or wildlife.

they have a warning sign up at the ranger station/boat ramp. the odnr is working on getting numerous signs up in other potential launch sites. we are having some torrential rain right now. a bunch of fresh rainwater introduded into the lake will go a long way towards helping with the bloom. I just hope the odnr doesn't freak with the expected rainfall and dump a bunch of fresh needed rain water out the back. let the dam police itself.

Yet algeacide applied to a lake in South Carolina caused a massive fish kill:

Yeah, I wouldn't trust doing it either.
