Why did he have to drive around to bars to find them big jars ? Didn't grocery stores have them back then? Wallys has them big jars out there.Heck he could eat the pickles too and double help his hangover.Ole MJ had to be thinking the same thing, probably why she got mad

Don't know, but I imagine it was because the pickle jars was half full or almost empty in bars and he just wanted the juice. He probably figured why buy a whole big jar of pickles for just the juice. Oh yeah, you could buy big jars back then but he couldn't eat that many pickles just to have the juice. It was obvious he just wanted the juice for the hangover. But it was an annual thing for awhile with RW wanting pickle juice for his half dead hangovers. BJ would drive him around looking for it, don't know how many times but I remember them doing it and BJ talking about it. I think he didn't answer the phone sometimes because he knew it might be him, RW didn't have a car or license for a long time back then. He got them horror hangovers bad because he would go on a 2 to 3 day binges.   You will have to ask MJ about RW and his pickle juice the next time you see her but she would get mad because she didn't want BJ drinking again. You know how she is about drinking, she hates people to drink any at all. RW Jr. eats lemons for his hangovers. He told me that many times. Come on down he said, I'm ready I had my lemons and my hangover has broken he said.    He would be ready to hit the beer again.   Don't know how they did it, only time and sleep and water and salty foods is the cure for me. The real cure is not to drink at all or know your limit.    I won't drink a bunch like that again for months, I just like to have a few nips every so often. I'm not a big drinker and can't drink like I use to and definitely hate hangovers. :122249 If I would have had a few more yesterday evening, it would have been a bad hangover today for me, but I hung it up early and glad I did. I can tell I drank though. I feel tired/sluggish but it's not the killer ready for the emergency room type hangover. Know your bad Hangover limit, it pays off Bolt. :122245

I would rather have the grocery store pickle jars if it was me.the used pickle jars in the bars might not be too sanitary, don't know whose fingers been dipping in that juice trying to fish out pickles lol.About time to head out to micks and get a couple clean tasting mcmuffs and a couple hot cakes with maple syrup and maybe a hash brown or two.

Me too, but you need the juice for your pickles to soak in to keep them juicy if the jar is still full of pickles. That's why he went to bars to find jars with less pickles than juice. If the jar at one bar was full of pickles they wouldn't give him any of the juice so they drove around looking at other bars. I think they use forked prongs to get pickles out of those great big jars. Maybe not back in the early 70's.   Also heard today, he would even drink the juice out of pickled egg jars too, and if anyone was having onion/cucumbers in vinegar and sugar with their supper, he would come and get the left over juice from the main holding bowl when they was done with it and drink it too.
