Lavender to promote new book April 19 at Downtown Depot

HUNTINGTON — The Herald-Dispatch’s Dave Lavender, along with his wife, Toril ,and sons Will and Jacob will be on-hand from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19, promoting Lavender’s new book, “Dave Trippin: A Day Tripper's Guide to the Applachian Galaxy of Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.”

The family will be at the store, located at 401 9th Street, from 2 to 4 p.m. that day.

The book is a collection of columns that have run in The Herald-Dispatch featuring the Lavenders’ adventures during day trips throughout the region, including tips for exploring Tri-Staters’ own backyard, with or without the kids.

Along with writing entertainment and outdoors reports in The Herald-Dispatch, Lavender has been seen giving weekend entertainment updates on WSAZ NewsChannel 3 and heard on WKEE, WAMX and WTCR radio.

Bring your best car-activity for kids to win a free copy of “Dave Trippin’.” Entries will be impartially judged by the Lavender boys.

Dave had 2 very successful signings last week....lots of fun....met a lot of people, and many friends came by to visit him.

You're more than welcome. Sounds like a great book with a lot of family oriented trips that can be taken in a week-end. I plan on picking one up.

He could probably write an entire book about the OBDTF's meetings... with a little input from two or three of the informants...
