Our Relay For Life

Just thought I'd let everyone know that our Relay For Life in Jackson County was a big success. If they had given a prize for the ones coming the farthest, I think my family would have won. . My family from Alabama , Florida, and Texas came. Even my nephew who is in the Navy stationed in Japan saved his leave for this. He flew in and came straight there from the airport. I have posted pictures on My Space. Our family team won a silver award for raising over $2,500. We raised $3,460.19. We also got a third place ribbon for most money raised by a family team and won a crystal plaque for having the most original spirit stick. The total money raised for Jackson County was over $ 160,000. Some of the family will be visiting for awhile and others had to leave due to a family medical emergency, but it was great having all of them here with me at the first Relay since Roger passed.

YTB, Not yet, but some of the family is still here. Every one always wants a Jackson County Veal and a Ski pop when they come home, but one nephew from Florida took his wife to Cardos because he said he had been thinking of those BLT Pizzas all the way up here. :aaaaa24 :aaaaa24

When I lived in Virginia Beach, everytime I came home to see family, I took Breaded un-cooked veals and Ski in my cooler, back with me. My Brother's family would have the buns and pickles and deep fryer ready as soon as I got there.

Come on now, they are called Jackson County Veals, so they must be better. My brother who lives in Vinton County always comes to Jackson or Wellston for a Jackson County Veal. :122245 :122245 :122245

You were a big part of it. Thanks again. We are already planning next years. We have our theme and will start fund raising in September. We want to beat this years amount.

What park? Pig Iron days was at Manpower park but the Relay was at the track. Don't know anything about a man and woman in bibs. Sorry.
