Job Hunting, again.

Post by LICKING COUNTY FAN »

I currently work for SCHWAN'S (Tony’s pizza) FOOD.
Yesterday a manager called me an off the record he said that Nov. 9th would be our last day of work. They, the company will let every in the depot in Franklin County go plus they will let the merchandiser go. I replied I had already known this was coming, an inside source had told me to prepare for it. The off the record caller also told me that the salesmen in the area, who all made over 60,000 last year on commission would be put on salary getting only 35,000-40,000 a year plus they will be required to work 6-7 days a week up to 12 hours or more a day.

I have a great lead on a job that has not been posted yet, another inside source, so to speak. If this comes to be please keep the good wishes coming my way.

Good luck newarkcatholicfan!! I was in your shoes last November when I got laid off. I gave this company 10 1/2 years of my life and all they gave me on that last day was a handshake and a boot in the @ss. It took me 6 months to find a job after that (which was by far the LONGEST 6 months of my life) but now I couldn't be happier. What I thought was the worst thing that could have happened to me actually was a blessing in disguise and I'm grateful for it. Being laid off helped me grow up and not take so many things for granted and it also helped me realize that if I could make it through something like that, I will be able to make it through anything. Again, good luck newarkcatholicfan, I hope everything turns out as good for you as it did for me.

I had an interview today and it must have gone well because they scheduled another one for this Friday. The pay is decent. I guess 15 bucks an hour plus mileage. Keep your fingers crossed and throw a prayer up for me, if you will.

I had the interview today and it seemd like it went really well.
I was asked a lot of questions, standard for this job as I was told this before the interview.

The final cut will be made by Tuesday.

Keep your fingers crossed and send up a prayer, please and thanks.

I was told today that the company we were trying to get on with hired 10-12 people with no experience. So I will have to keep looking.:(

I'm right there with you, NCF.
The parent company of the local business I used to work for downsized the local operation back in August and my job was one of several cut. I'm still looking. God bless you and your family.
