Jackson Pizza Hut on fire as we post!!!!!!!
As of 12:10 a.m. on Friday, April 24, the Pizza Hut in Jackson is on fire, several departments have been called for mutual aid, flames are through the roof and I can see smoke clear as day from our office.

The call has been placed to the state fire marshal to investigate and they are on the way. We all know what that usually means.
No one was in the building at the time.

Well, this fire sure sounded a lot worse over the scanner than it actually was. The building was saved. What I wrote below was off the JFD report.
Late-night fire hits Pizza Hut

A late-night fire which caused an estimated $100,000 in damage hit one of Jackson’s most familiar, and most popular, restaurants late Thursday night.
The fire was reported at the Pizza Hut restaurant at 800 E. Main Street, only an estimated hour-and-a-half after the eatery had closed for the evening.
The eventual full-alarm assignment, initially responded to by the Jackson Fire Department, required mutual aid from three other departments in addition to Southeast Ohio Emergency Medical Services.
Early on Friday morning, the state fire marshal’s office was contacted to assist with the investigation.
However, according to the initial report by the Jackson Fire Department, the fire is not considered suspicious.
At approximately 11:36 p.m. Thursday night, the JFD received the initial call of a structure fire at the Pizza Hut.
A second call informed the JFD of heavy smoke showing, prompting mutual aid from the Liberty, Coalton and Wellston Fire Departments.
Upon arrival, JFD Chief Doug Reed reported flames showing through the roof of the building, above the kitchen area.
The fire was contained to above the kitchen area, and the flames were revealed and extinguished after an interior attack was made by pulling away some ceiling tiles.
No one was inside the restaurant at the time of the fire, as it had closed at 10 p.m.
The estimated loss — according to the report — is $100,000, but both the business and the building are insured.
The scene was deemed cleared at 4:16 a.m. on Friday morning.
The Pizza Hut property is owned by Charlie Hudson of Independence near Columbus.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

My daughter and I just had lunch there on Wednesday. I wonder if it could be an electrical thing , because their register went off for no reason that day and they had to ring up people with the register in the drive through. I like their dinner- for- one meal. But Cardos is still the best place to eat because they have a great big pizza buffet and if you don't like pizza, they have a good variety of other options. Yesterday I was there, and got a hamburger. ![Very Happy :-D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

For Giovanni's, how is that for timing on the opening of its new buffet?
It's unfortunate for Pizza Hut of course, but they will re-open at some point.

I like Pizza Hut, I'm not too crazy about Giovannis. I'll stick with Cardos. They still have the best buffet in my opinion.
