Paladin had surgery Monday at the Cleveland Clinic. Discharged Thursday. Needs to rehab the hip replacement but should be good as new.

All of the silliness aside, wish you a speedy and worry free recovery. Hope that all goes well with your rehabilitation and that you are back on your feet and doing all you like to do in a quick fashion.

Actually it was a piece of cake. No pain but stiffness. I won't be a n much. My Doc does the Browns,Indians and Cavs too. Should be out in a week.

wow, really? I would have thought differently. What's the rehab process? Full recovery in weeks or months?

My uncles dad just had it done, he said it could be 6 months before he's up and around normally.

I guess he'll be canoeing late summer then...I'm sure Paladin will have plenty of time poolside to work on the tan as well as the rehab.

I agree. Work on the tan Paladin. 6 months isn't bad though for a procedure of that magnitude, but the older you are the worse it can be on a person. His dad is around 80.

I know you may not believe it ,but had the other hip done 2years ago . I recovered in 4 weeks and anything I wanted to do could be done in 2months. Expect same this time. No pain either time and rehab was amazingly easy. Doc says I have a high pain threshold and recovered quicker than most. I am moving pretty good now.

Rehab varies for people. I am in good health, strong, and active. Even at 70, I look 50. Others in bad health with other. Conditions will need time. Exercises involve range of motion activities, stretching exercises, some light weights, going up and down steps and walking. Simple stuff. But most have pain and it limits what they can do and how fast. Piece of cake for me . I was driving again and doing everything again quickly.

Sounds amazing regardless of health, condition and age. I've overcome a 3 knee surgeries fairly quickly but I would have thought the hip would be horrible. You'll be out and about before the spring thaw and may even get a chance to shovel a little snow!

I am told if there is pain and slow recovery, it's the knee. Not the hip. One of the Gasser brothers who played with me(Tom) had both knees done. He was in good shape but had problems. I am planning that beach trip right now ( with windchill outside of -25.

Well, I'm on a remote island in the South Pacific and the weather is fabulous! I got out of southern Ohio when the temps started dropping below 20..." I shall return" when the weather is better. I don't blame you for heading for warmth! The cocktails are cold and served frequently too..

Hard workout today. I am sore. Walking some without a walker or cane. Looking to check out of rehab on Saturday. South Pacific sounds good, FIDO
