Bad Contractors

Post by mattash »

Hey anyone know how to deal with this? Mother is older and made the mistake of paying up front (30k) for an addition to her home (flatwoods ky). The contractor did about half the work and quit showing up. Now he sent a letter that his company is going out of business. The contractor company is based in Ohio.

They have left a mess

I would get ahold of the Better Business Bureau and State Attorney General.

File a lein against him in Ohio. Gotta be some some good attorneys who can work in both states.

Don't know about up there but, there are two roofing companies from NC that are no more. In both cases, our state AG and feds took the owners to court....owners are doing time and folks got their $$$ back.

Sounds like senior abuse to me. Any AG worth their weight would jump on this case!! I sure as heck would!!!
