Favorite "one hit wonder" song

Post by OHHS old timer »

Well....This should be a good one. That singer or group who had THAT one song that hit the Billboard Top 40. You know....that one!

For me: I gotta go back to March 1973. The song actually came out in late '72 but, started gaining radio play in March....reaching a #16 spot in late '73. Simple song....simple lyrics...and crazy enough for alot of kids (like me) to sing it.

"Dead Skunk (in the middle of the road)" by Loudon Wainwright III

Your turn....

Clapton won a grammy in 1994 for his acoustic version.

The late Duane Allman played lead on original recording...if I remember correctly
