Well....

Tropical storm Fred is bearing down on the area. Winds, as of 4AM, are at 50 mph with movement NNW@9 mph. Schools are closed as are several businesses. Landfall sometime this evening. Still is about 160 miles away from me.

The biggest expectation from Fred are: rain...around 4-8 inches, wind.. probably 50-60 mph sustained with gusts to hurricane strength.

Storm surge...1-3 ft.
Tornadoes....always a possibility...a/o now it is a low probability
Power outage...possible in some areas

I'll be OK. Backup generator good to go. Steel shutters ready. Neighbors are good to go as well.

Welcome to Florida and my neighborhood...just had to say that..lol

Fred has pretty much come and gone...

My neighbor recorded a wind gust of 66 mph on his trusty anemometer...I had one of 54. The rain has stopped for now. My gauge in the backyard read 4.8 inches of the wet stuff for a two day total of 6.4 inches.

The areas here that flood did just that...schools might be closed until Wed (they started up last Tuesday here).

Hopefully...that will be all for us this year as we continue to rebuild after Michael...10-10-18.

And that's all folks....
