I was there working. What a great Speedweeks it was. I cant believe what Vickers said about Dale Jr. I agree with Kenny Wallace that there is too much blocking, mirror driving, and whining in Nascar. I have 30 years experience at Daytona. It looked like Jr got hit, run off the track into the grass, and was gathering up his car when he clipped Vickers' left rear fender. Most folks yapping about Jr. are just haters who dont have a clue how much turbulence there is and how much it moves your car at this track. Jr. said he wanted to get back above the dbl. yellow line so he didnt get another cheap penalty. That pit box rule and penalty needs to be changed or adjusted from track to track. Guys race out of the pit into the grass here to get ahead of others.
Congrats to Matt Kenseth and Jack Roush. I am a fan of both. I snapped this with my phone before the 500. Err, umm I mean the Daytona 380.
