Outrageously Priced Bass Lures, Trend Or Here To Stay?

Post by kantuckyII »

The last couple of years we've seen some outrageously priced bass lures..15 and 20 dollar crank baits, 15 dollar spinner baits etc. I tend to think this is just a passing trend and that these lures aren't any better than the 3 and 4 dollar counterparts, what do you all think?

I don't own any of the high dollar baits. I mostly worm fish and throw a lot of topwaters. I run crankbaits but they are ones that I have owned for years. I use a lot of Rattle Traps also.

If I had one of these I would be afraid to throw it. I think I would just get it mounted :!: ;-)

THE MOST EXPENSIVE PLUG I OWN IS A LUCKY CRAFT LIVE POINTER, WHEN THEY FIRST CAME OUT , LIKE 22 BUCKS. I LIKED TO DIED WHEN I SAW THE PRICE. BUT IT HAS BEEN A GOOD PLUG, JUST AFFRAID TO USE IT IN WEEDY AREAS. ------------WHERE THE BIG-UNS ARE.

I was at the Bass Pro Shops in Cincinnati last month and the guy pulls out a spinning reel that was six hundred bucks! I'm like? what the heck? he says..'but..feel how light it is!' comon man...spinning reels that are used for bass fishing ain't that heavy that they need to be built out an exotic metal! that's just crazy!

I use Ambassadeur 4600's. I currently own around 10 or so. They do everything I need to do for under $100. I have several new Bass Pro rods that have never been used. I am currently using some of their boron rods that are probably 20 years old now. I have a few older 5500C's from the early 60's that are still kicking but they don't see any action anymore. They are worth too much.

I have two red 5000's from the 50's. What are they worth?

Here's You're Tiger Bait's favorite lure! Image
Good thing he's so good natured...

probably not much Big Orange One cause most of the reels from that time are still working and there's probably a lot of them out there.

It just depends on what they are. Do a search on EBAY and you can get an idea.
