Anyone Else Planning On Fishing Trips This Season?

Post by kantuckyII »

I am thinking about doing one in April and another in June. I'd like to do another either in late April or early May.

Lake Erie in June but..don't know where I'm going to do the April trip..right now I'm thinking Guntersville or Lake Kerr in Virginia. Anyone been to either of these lakes before? I've done Keer four times and Guntersville twice.

Anyone else been to Guntersville and seen those Alligator Gars go sliding by under your boat in shallow water? the first time you see it, it kinda catches you off guard, scary actually. I'm not talking about these Long Nose Gar we have up here but the Alligator which can grow to over 9' long!

I plan on hittin the Walleye Run at Maumee River here in a month or so, and then the OGF Crappie Open in May. Might be headed to Mississippi in a few Weeks to do a Combo Hunting/Fishing Trip if I can get off work for a Week.

My family has made the trip to Canada 12 years in a row . I'm soo lucky My brother owns a wonderful fish camp in remote canada. I've been going almost 20 years. MD just remembered --thats where I get my nickname----ManitouDan Our Camp is on the Lower Lake Manitou , 50 miles north of International Falls MN. The place is as close to heaven as an outdoorsman can get. MD

My hubby and I use to go to Rice Lake, or the Trent River up in Canada, but the drive got old. We went to Lake St, Clair Michigan. WE caught alot of 3-4 lb small mouth. Beautiful up there, and nice area.

Those were only what was brought home. We were catching them left and right. We went up again early in the fall, and it rained most of the time we were there, so they weren't biting. I would recommend St Clair to anyone.

Lake ElSalto, Mexico the best fishing trip I have been on. We go Lake Douglas (tennesse) twice a year. Very nice lake with a farely short drive 5-6 hours.

Where you stay at on Douglas? I was there last spring. I didn't bring a tent with me and I was sleeping in the back of my truck at the campground. I'd leave..go fishing for the day, come back and my campsite was gone. I was told I had to have a tent or something sitting there. I finally got aggravated and went to Dale..only to find when I got there that Lilly Dale Campground doesn't open till like May now! I stayed at another another night..got up the next morning..went out..promptly snapped my prop on my boat and said..quit while you're ahead and came on home. Hope this spring is better ;-)

Towards the dam, just across from the big island. Yes they have a ramp.
