I was wondering..I at the lake tonight and thought when I got home, I'd ask this question. Do you always lift your rod to move the worm or jig or do you crank your reel slowly or will you do both?

I do many different actions untill I get a bite, sometimes i even bounce the worm fast like its hopping across the bottom.

You seem to be a fast worker, I've watched you..you were moving your bait quite quickly..

I tell you, I have been around long enough to know that things have changed a lot with bass. I never hear them working on the surface like I used to 45 years ago after the sun sets. Not saying they don't..just no where near like they used to. I think that bass that were more than like to do that got caught a long time ago..I believe that it's learned behavior or whatever that causes them to no longer do that to the degree they used to. The pressure is incredible on the fish compared to what it was then.

I also don't believe that fish go after a worm like they used to 30 years ago. Used to be bluegills would drive you nuts. I seldom have them hit on my bait like they used to do.

We were worming on jackson lake a few weeks ago and caught 5 bluegill to every bass. We also caught a huge crappie with a worm that day. I dont always move it that fast thats just what I was getting my hits on that day.

we will!!!! i would like to eat a couple, but i enjoy catching them more. the bad thing is at most public lakes and ponds people keep everything and there is never anything good to catch, thats why i like those hidden places.
